so was finally able to take out my s12 that raac sent back to me today.

first time shooting this

has 3 holes instead of 2 holes like my org one had.

 

with 24 rounds of high brass on setting one no problems.. not 1 stove pipe.

shot 12

then switched to low brass, all fte..

then another 12 hb. all good, then another 12 lb, 2 would be fine then a stove pipe.

repeat several times on setting 2. did have one go where i was able to fire 6 rounds of lb with out a fte.

 

so.. in all about 100 rounds..

 

love this gun

want to move fcg forward and mod it out..

just not sure if i should wait or not..

The 3 hole gun that i got back from RAAC, seems to have no issues with Wal-Mart federal bulk pack on setting 2. It took a few dozen shells to break it in though...

Are all 3 holes completely unobstructed and within the actual gas block opening?

Try the King's Armory gas piston. It helped mine, counts as one compliance part, and is designed to help with functionality . Less than $50, so it's a cheap check and you'll want to replace the piston anyway.

yeah i would surely call raa , they will do you right , they out source to Cadiz Gun Works , and at CGW they do great work , RAA pays for shipping there and back , and they work is done fast . i got mine back in three weeks , and it shoots great and the cheap stuff

If it were me, and the gun hasn't been modded yet, I'd send it to CGW. They do great work and are awesome to deal with. Just try and deal with the separation anxiety of being without your Saiga for a little bit. I know I wouldn't like being without mine.

 

Of course, having the Gunfixr plug and putting some HB rounds through it are all things you should do anyway IMO. But why not have it 100% if you can still get warranty work done. After that, the gas plug would just be extra insurance. I'm running a Chaos piston too, although I admit the KA one looks pretty cool.

If you are like me and want to convert it yourself, you should try the recommended polishing procedure,. if that doesn't work, drill a new gas port or ream the ones you have,... it's free, I'll give you the cobalt drill bit and 2 blocks of wood,.. it'll be FREE!

with 200 rounds of FEDERAL value pack.

every thing cycled on setting 2!!!!

 

must only be the Winchester low brass this lady dosnt like to eat...

she enjoys the federal..

repeat.. try federal low brass if you think you cant cycle low brass.

Winchester dosnt pop the same way...

 

now! to the grinder...

So did you end up doing anything to the gun itself, or just an ammo swap? I picked up a Federal Value-Pack today on the numerous recommendations here. I also opted not to even try the Winchester, also due to the recommendations here.
