crfakm4 0
Will the safety rotate all the way? Or is it hitting? You may have to grind a little off the bottom flat area of the safety.
Gibbles 23
I found it works to leave the safety up part way then install the FCG, get the BHO spring on the trigger pin slap everything to gether then use a small screw driver from the rear of the reciever with stock removed to get the spring on the BHO. I have a modded Retainer plate for my FCG, it will not clear the BHO.. so I modified it, now I can remove the safety lever with everything in place. I had to cut a notch into the BHO till it cleared. And while I had everything apart last time around I took my BHO and rounded off all of the sharp little edges and gave it a softer feel till it did not bother my trigger finger as bad, then refinished it with the rest of the gun. nalioth 405
Can someone tell us exactly what was happening? I've never heard of this issue before.
DrWho 10
the safety was touching the back of the right trigger part if gun is pointing away from you. had to grind a bit of the right, like a 16th of an inch. and to make my life easier i removed any metal i could see from the BHO that was blocking the safety hole in the receiver. really surprised no one has made a tech article about this.. maybe it was just a issue with my trigger and s12. DrWho 10
was looking for that post!!!
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Well I guess I'll have to add that to the list....mine didn't have that problem. On mine it was hitting on the disconnector.
nalioth 405
Well I guess I'll have to add that to the list....mine didn't have that problem. On mine it was hitting on the disconnector. . . . which is quite common when building AKs and working with Kalashnikov trigger mechanisms (as with the Saiga conversion). The solution here is to relieve the bottom of the safety where it impinges the disconnector (leave a full length leg on the right in place, or you'll not have a safety function). DrWho's situation is unique in my experience.
OneStarTx 0
I thought he was describing the same problem I had, But I was wrong. What Nalioth is describing is the problem I had on my conversion. I removed material from the *left side only* on the disconnector where it was hanging up at.
gtnichols 51
FYI,.I had to do that same metal removal on my last S-12 conversion to allow the safety to work. Tapco G2 Trigger group
