greatmoose 4
Was playing around with one of my S-308s the other day, and noticed that with the stock handguard, a converted saiga looks like it sort of belongs in the G3 family. So I took off the Galil furniture it was wearing, put on the tapco classic stock, factory saiga HG, rotated the bayo lug 180 degrees and gave it a whirl. What do you think? SOPMOD 254
Looks rather businesslike. What kind of bayonet is that?
Henn 0
Nice! Has a real clean look to it. Is that an Ace clamp-on front sight?
greatmoose 4
The bayo is a chinese M7 knock-off. I liked the look of the grip on it. The sight is the ACE sight, and the rear sight is from Vulcan (I know, I know).
KrisFox 69
Can't use sights and the bayo with that set up.
greatmoose 4
Well, I guess I'll just scrap the whole thing... Just kidding, my next step is to trim down the tang so the sights can be used.
AK308_in_AK99709 0
Oh Master Ungulat, Where did you get your bayonet lug for the M7?
SOPMOD 254
Do those top cover sights stay lined up well?If so then you could have the rear sight base milled down and weld on a rail for an optic that might cowitness the sights.
Chaps 0
I like it! Question on your FSB, I noticed it has regular AK type ears. Is that a mod? The Ace sights that I've seen have a tube instead of the ears.
greatmoose 4
I got the bayo lug from cheaperthandirt, it's the heavy barrel AR lug. For the front sight, it's the newer model ACE sight, with flush set screws and for some reason split sight ears.

Thats good to hear they've changed that as the tube tends to mess up co-witnessing. Think I'm going to go with one of those though it wouldn't be that tough to notch out the top if one had to. I'm assuming its the smaller gas block model that fits the 308?
