what needs to be done to a g2 fcg to fit saiga?

Recommended Posts

Finally made the decision to convert. I was wondering what is so hard about using a regular tapco G2 fcg and pay $32.99? I understand something needs to be done to fit, but how hard is it to do? I know you can purchase it from dinzag for $52.00. Is it really a dropin design? Did anyone out there use different fcg for some helpful input.

I did search and could not find a direct answer as to what is done to the fcg to make a $20.00 more, without contacting dinzag himself. I know someone in here has the answer I'm looking for. Thanks

this is my cart from dinzag. Am I forgetting anything? I'm not including drill bits and tools, I already have them.

FCGG2SH G2 FCG Single Hook $34.00

AKPGNS AK PG Nut w/Screw $9.00

AKNYHP Hole Plugs $1.00

AKRETP AK FCG Ret Plate $15.00

TGHWARE1 Triggerguard Hardware $1.00

how critical is it to trim the hammer for fit on the g2 fcg?

Allow me to repeat myself, with highlights:

Throw the bolt hold open away, and any single hook trigger group is "drop in".

The BHO isn't needed on rifles, anyway, IMHO.

thanks nalioth, i get it.

I have BHO and I like it. It takes 10 mins to file the clearance for the BHO on the right side of the hammer.

I also cut the BHO lever as it binds the trigger finger once you move the group forward. Do a search on this site for how to on this mod. It is also very easy.

That sucks PM-40, sorry to hear about that. Not looking too far ahead at this point as to doing the bullet guide, I am a pipefitter and have seen first hand what happens when a tap breaks off in the bolt hole on a flange of a fitting. I don't have any good advice to help you in your situation, it doesn't look good, imo. We would usually burn it out with a torch and then re-tap it, this is definitely not going to help you in your case!
