The Saiga-12 IS an AK (albeit a bit larger in some areas).

I thought the Tapco G2 need to be modified slightly before it could be "dropped in". If not, why are people paying extra money for Tromix or Dinzag modified FCGs?

You are correct.

 

Any Kalashnikov fire control group would have to be so modified.

OK, cool. What exactly needs to be modified? Which stickes, exactly? Sorry for my ignorance, I'm new at all this slf-gunsmithing
