cvhanh20 1,052 Posted July 12, 2009 Report Share Posted July 12, 2009 His name, Edward Demar, age 76, passed July 11 10:30 p.m. Ed was my step dad for the past 7 yrs. but has been a friend to the family for 27 yrs. I wasn't very close to him, but we got along well. He was good to my mother and kind to my family, can't ask for than that. His health has been up and down for some time and the doctors told my mom he only had a few days left, so she brought him home for his last days on earth, he smiled as they wheeled the gurney into the house and placed him upon his bed, then within minutes went nonresponsive until tonight, just minutes before passing he opened his eyes looked around the room to my mother and said good bye, and was gone. My mom is hard as nails, real old school, as a nurse for the elderly most of her career she has seen this many times even her own daughter just two years ago, she has been at the side of many people taking that journey into the unknown, and they always leave their mark on her, even though she tries not to show it.
