REKIII 0
I know, no such thing as a dumb question. I'm really bad at serching and couldn't find the answer spelled out so I can understand it. What can we shoot out of our S-12's? Slugs? Shot only, what size? Thanks for the help. Bob (I'm converting my saiga .308 right now, and waiting for deliver of the 12, so not a total newb)

REKIII 0
Wow, I actually forgot about the different shell lengths (been awhile since I shot my remy 870) thats good to know that they both will fit. Thanks!
Bayoupiper 738
That was not a dumb question! I'd avoid any low recoil stuff and any non-lethal ammunitions.
Coils 2
I'd avoid any low recoil stuff and any non-lethal ammunitions. Why? I've shot low power bird shot and that low recoil cowboy stuff through mine already.

Most people recommend using 3" slugs to break in their S 12's.

I've shot low power bird shot and that low recoil cowboy stuff through mine already. It's pretty much a standard with all semi auto shotguns. And my S-12 will cycle anything I put in it, but it has been modded and shot enough to break it in.
scoutjoe 276
REKIII, break in using high brass, then try low powered birdshot on setting two. Might take a box or two of shells. My EAA (older importer) gun ate birdshot right out of the box before I shortened up the barrel
Coils 2
Thanks for the answers I guess I got lucky, I used that Federal bulk pack stuff from Wally World and it worked fine from round one. With the cowboy stuff, it was only 5 rnds but it still work.
Azrial 1,091
Mine cycled low brass out of the box. YMMV...
BronCobraJet 80
The 3" 00 Buck magnums will let you "bond" with your gun via your shoulder. You will think about your gun many times a day for a couple of days.
