Their floorplates attach differently, and they have a smoother finish, but they look and perform identically. Sure if you are looking to tell them apart it isn't hard, but the shape and feel is so close it doesn't matter. I totally agree with you about looks too. I made a plug for mine, so that I can save a buck, and because it looks cooler as a hunting mag, and gives you something to grab when you insert it. Mine functions flawlessly, but it won't work with my new magwell.(nor will the IZZy) So it is surefires for me until I find the time to play with a little epoxy and fitting. If you like the Izhmash mags, you will like these. period. get them if you want them. They are about the only thing that looks proportional to the gun.
