Jpanzer 1,265
Wondering if the Russians actually used a 7.62x39 AK with their metal sidefolder stock. I know it was actually used on the AK 74, but is there any historical usage of this type of folder on a AKM?
shades_of_grey 1,092
Wondering if the Russians actually used a 7.62x39 AK with their metal sidefolder stock. I know it was actually used on the AK 74, but is there any historical usage of this type of folder on a AKM? *shrug* If you mean Russian mil-spec, I don't think so. Regardless, an ACE Ultra Lite folder installed on a Saiga 7.62x39 is a superior set-up, (except for selective fire). What's truly effective is often different from what's "correct" or "collectible". saigafreake 27
i dont believe they ever used the triangle folder but i know they use the solid folder now on the ak100 series 7.62x39 guns.
bigsal 757
The above posters are correct. Triangle sidefolders were not used on the AKM. If memory serves (and it does) The AKM variants with folding stocks were only underfolders.

I I'm not buying it. It's like my dad allways told me: "One fuzzy pic of an Uzbek does not a factory-build make!" I'm calling bullshit on this.
nalioth 405
To my knowledge, the Russians never made any 7.62x39 skeleton side folder equipped rifles (that saw the light of day, anyway). The folks in the middle east, however . .
