dmk0210 10
Will an Ultimak Lower Rail Forend attach to a .223 Saiga without a handguard retainer? This one ---> http://www.ultimak.com/ACR2.htm Edited February 5, 2010 by dmk0210
seanie 6
Yep. No handguard retainer is needed because it clamps to the barrel. Buy it. I have one and it's the bee's knees.

dmk0210 10
So I got both the upper and lower (I got the shorty lower #ACR2-SC). Just like Seanie said, both attach with clamps on the barrel and they fit the .223 barrel perfectly. Very nice parts.
seanie 6
Good to hear it's working out for you. What optic are you going with?

Paladin 37
That will be a nice setup
seanie 6
Nice choice! I wish I had the cash to drop on an Aimpoint. Maybe one day, when I stop buying so many damn guns.
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
I have the top rail and absolutely love it. My red dot co witnesses nicely. I would love the lower as well but it's simply too expensive. I can't bring myself to mount a $220 handguard on a $329 dollar gun. So I went the economy route, cut out some material and added a rail to my factory forearm.
SirROFL 13
Got my upper and lower handguard from GunBroker and the saiga-12.com classifieds respectively. Ended up paying like $250 for both. Once I have the cash for an Aimpoint Micro it'll be unveiled.
seanie 6
Once I made up my mind on them, I just lurked on every board I could for deals. River of Guns helped a lot. I picked up my top rail that was mounted but never shot for $75 shipped, and the tri-rail lower lightly used for $150 shipped.
