DrtyHarry 0
Pardon the silly question. I have a S12 with fixed sights, I just got my quad rail in the mail and am curious if I have to remove the factory sight and file down the front sight/bead. Can I install it over the sight and peek under it to aim? Thanks, and again, pardon the newbie's question. DH

He's a great guy, very helpful, and doesn't bite (much).. Good luck! WS
Bvamp 604
the extended rail, the rear sight has to be removed....the regular quad rail, you dont have to remove anything. install the lower half first, then bolt on the top.

DrtyHarry 0
I very much appreciate your prompt replies, gents. Off with the rear sight it is. Thank you! DH
Gibbles 23
My rear sight was a pain in the butt, I had to dremel a grove into it just so I could hammer on it in an attempt to break it loose. Once I got it off it looked like it had some sort of an epoxy gluing it on. My gas tube is really loose now, but the rail looks great, and covers it up.
DrtyHarry 0
I was hoping it wasn't glued or something, it's off anyway as it is not center. Hope I don't have to whip out the dremel. Thanks buddy. DH
