RobbieD 0
Hey guys? I was looking at the CSS site for these and it states For the Saiga Rifles you will also need the "Gas Tube" with handguard bracket and "Handguard Retaining Lower Bracket" to install. Or do they come with the conversion kit?
rcc1111 3
You will have to order the gas tube and the retaining lower bracket. They do not come as part of the conversion kit.

Thanks rcc1111, I was about to get on the phone with them to check. I'll have to wait till after the new year now.

bkbville 0
How is the pistol grip on the Timbersmith? It looks thin and maybe a bit uncomfortable? I'm eying the black laminate for my
temporaryscars 6
I posted this elsewhere here, but I'll post it here as well in case anyone missed it. And finally, a video. I love it so far. My only problem is that the handguard is a little loose. I'm going to see if I can't find a way to get it a little more snug. Any suggestions?

I love it so far. My only problem is that the handguard is a little loose. I'm going to see if I can't find a way to get it a little more snug. Any suggestions? The top portion or the lower part of the handguard? The lower part on mine is rock solid, the top is a little loose because of the gas tube. The wood of the upper part is solid on the gas tube, but it's the actual gas tube that's just a tad loose.
temporaryscars 6
Lower part. It wobbles ever so slightly.
rcc1111 3
Lower part. It wobbles ever so slightly. What lower handguard retainer do you have? Edited December 21, 2010 by rcc1111
temporaryscars 6
That crazy expensive $80 one from Dinzag.
rcc1111 3
This might be a stupid question, but have you tried to move the retainer back so it sits tighter against the handguard?
temporaryscars 6
Yes I have, didn't seem to change anything. A question worth asking.
VaiFanatic90 360
I took the old screw that used to be in the bottom of the receiver to hold in the factory handguard, and screwed it back in.
temporaryscars 6
I thought about doing that but the wood only covers half the hole.
VaiFanatic90 360
I thought about doing that but the wood only covers half the hole. So does mine. The screw acts more like a stop, as opposed to actually going into the wood and holding it in place. It's more like a doorstop. It'll be difficult to get it in, but it'll thread itself through the wood.
temporaryscars 6
That worked. Thanks guys.

VaiFanatic90 360
Does anyone know how much the furniture set weighs? Not sure off hand, but my Saiga feels no heavier than my WASR-10.

I am more wondering of how much it weights compared to a polymer stock set.

I am more wondering of how much it weights compared to a polymer stock set. The wood will most likely weigh more. But I don't mind the extra weight. Gives me a sense of balance and control.
