SOPMOD 254
I can't wait to make 22 Clones of my Saigas!
KC913 324
They've been on the Izhmash website for a while now. http://www.izhmash-arms.ru/eim/imp/191.html Hopefully if they come with the russian folder as pictured, it can be removed and used on standard AKs, if the receiver is the same width, etc.
physicsnerd 139
Those do look sweet and would love to buy one, especially if they were $250!
Shandlanos 1,470
I want three. Then I want mags over 10 rounds. Now please.
KC913 324
Perhaps if these are imported, a company from this forum will come up with an affordable insert for a standard ak mag to use them with the Saiga .22lr for higher capacity.
EnzNow 14
WOW, thats fricken awesome...I have been looking into a GSG AK style 22 lately, but just don't like the fact there is so much polymer. I would pick up one of these in a heartbeat. -EnzNow

The internal design is totally different than a real AK, they are much harder to work on, and they are not nearly durable enough to do any serious training with. A WASR-22, or hopefully soon, a Saiga 22 would be a much better choice. Now if only they will become available here.

uzitiger 193
I can't wait to get one either. We won't have to use USC922r compliant parts since .22 rifles are exempt from that idiotic law (please correct me if I'm wrong) if it's sporterized. Another advantage over the WASR-22 is the Russian quality and reliability. I just hope it's not priced out of my reach.
shades_of_grey 1,092
It depends on how much they sell for, (if they are ever available here), but I might buy one just to cannibalize it for hard-to-find Russkie parts!
Gothmog 24
Hopefully it has parts that we can use, it says recoil opperated, not gas, I only hope it a source of certain parts that we all want for certain builds , we shall see. Anyway i'll still get one just to plink with.
bigsal 757
Do you guys remember when MTK did the promo for the GSG-22? They flew him out to Germany for a meet and greet. Heres a picture of the man himself glad-handing the good volks at German Sports Guns: Now purely speculation here, but do you think part of the reason IZZY hasn't introduced a 22lr saiga here in the states has something to do with this trip? Maybe MTK and his factory received some cash in order to keep the field free for the GSG "product"..... Edited October 3, 2010 by bigsal

Koljec 37
Can any forum dealers comment on the 22s and if RAA might be bringing any to the states in 2011? I'd put a deposit on one.
