WA-Tom 0
Curious how folks are permanantly attaching muzzle brakes etc. to a Saiga 12? The barrel thickness is too thin for pinning, and the same seems true for silver solder? I am not that good with silver solder but I can probably send it out to have that done if need be if thats the best process to use. Anyway, just thought I would consult with the S12.com gurus before I tried learning from my own mistakes!
Nailbomb 10,221
I live in a commie state and I don't have to do that... why are you having to? Planning on chopping some barrel length and permanently attaching the break to avoid it being a SBS?
22_Shooter 1,560
I thought Lone Star here had done a conversion with a cut down barrel (less than 18") and he perm attached a Tromix brake to bring it up to 18". Try asking him.
Patria Povo 31
Planning on chopping some barrel length and permanently attaching the break to avoid it being a SBS? I plan to do just that Red Jacket will do it on their firearms for an additional $130.

WA-Tom 0
Shooter I LOVE your photo of my wife Yes I plan to shorten a barrel and perm attach something on it to non NFA configuration. We can't have SBS's in this state.
WA-Tom 0
Yeah I think pinning them on is out of the question for me. I have done quite a few pin jobs on various other guns, so I am familiar with the process. But I also know how thin the shotgun barrel is and how poorly centerline pinning has performed on the other guns I have done ( mostly AR15's).
scalilou 2
Just buy a tig welder for 100 bucks from harbor freight. Its easy to do and youll find yourself using the welder for other things as well. Its the easiest welder to learn with in my opinion because its wire fed. And dont feed me the line about getting the barrel too hot. it only takes a good tack weld to hold it on perm. I could touch the barrel with my bare hand just a min after i did it. A little grinding, duracoat or header paint. Ive shot 700 rounds since i did mine and its still perfect.
skiboatsp 111
I would make sure what ever method you use it follows the BATF guide lines.
