Speaking of skills, I was on a C-17 once that had to back up the entire runway distance because there was no room to turn it around. A while back a Canadian unit was fighting in the Hindu-Kush Mt.s of Afghanistan... They had a serious problem. Taliban were using a marijuana forest as cover & the plant is so efficient, it soaks up all the body heat & FLIR infrared cameras couldn't see through dense plants to detect body heat of the Taliban fighters. The Canadian unit, had a truly Canadian solution to the problem.... They decided to fire-bomb the Marijuana forest. Now anyone who has heard of Marijuana, likely knows that "Purple-Kush", or "Purple Afghani" is some of the strongest marijuana the world has ever seen... Needless to say the unit was positioned downwind from the burning marijuana FOREST... Troops reported feeling "funny"...
