camoman33935 0
Hey yall, Well, I believe that after Christmas I'm gonna get myself a Saiga in 7.62x39 and I plan on converting it to the non-neutered condition. The only thing is...I don't like polymer furniture. Since I don't like polymer furniture, that means no U.S. made Tapco furniture or the like. I'll hopefully be going with some milsurp Ak wood furniture. Just the top and bottom forearm and the stock. I'll get a Tapco pistol grip. Here's the list of things I plan on getting and installing in the rifle and maybe somebody can let me know if I'll be compliant per 922r rules. Tapco G2 Trigger group- 3 compliance parts if I'm not mistaken Tapco Pistol grip- 1 compliance part Tapco Intrafuse AK mags- 3 compliance parts Tapco AK74 style brake- 1 compliance part Tapco Gas Piston- 1 compliance part Bullet guide (so I can use the AK mags) Milsurp AK stock Milsurp AK forearm AK Gas Tube Lower Handguard Retainer Hopefully this makes sense what I'm asking. Thanks yall Edited December 3, 2010 by Gavin
L5K 162
You can replace the FCG with the G2 The gas piston Pistol grip Brake And be done. Those parts will put you in good standing for 922r for using imported magazines, which I highly recommend. If you're going to use AK mags, use milsurp mags. US made ones are all plastic and will, yes, WILL break. Milsurp ones have steel locking lugs and feed lips.
Bigtwin 219
Also wouldn't the Tapco Timbersmith count? Gives ya that perdy wood feeling all while staying 922r!
VaiFanatic90 360
Or you can also check out ironwood. They've got a great selection of wood.

VaiFanatic90 360
Going with ironwood also gives you the option to finish the wood in any color you'd like.
cj5mrt 0
I had an Ironwood set on an AK I used to have and they were very nice. I'd recommend them to anybody. Mike

Tapco came out with their unfinished Timbersmith sets: http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-541/TIMBERSMITH-TAPCO-AK47-WOOD/Detail Turn that into a nice Russian red, and.... . camoman33935 0
Yeah I saw the Ironwood and Timbersmith but my only problem with them is the price tag they carry with them.
