Can you say "no longer importable due to it being pistol ammo".

 

Go with .308 instead since we already can't get steel core .308

Did you miss the .54r part, or is there a PSL pistol or something else that I've not seen yet widely enough available to classify the Dragunov's, PSL's & Mosin Nagant's ammo as pistol ammo?

 

I know Chinese steel core .39 is banned, but I was just at a gun show looking at a wall of russian steel core .54r in crates for around $250 per 888 2 spam can crate.

 

For the love of Pete! What's next? Calling a .338 Lapua a pistol round???

The ammo is still being imported. But there is not a "in common use" requirement for ammo to become pistol ammo.

 

just suggesting maybe it would be in the best interests of the firearms community to NOT make a 54R pistol. Thats all.

 

It only took a handful of krinks for x39 to become pistol ammo.
