Graniteer 10
Has anyone here used the metal Tantal/5.45 mags in their Saiga? I shot a 5.45 last week for the first time in years, and I remembered how much fun it is. I am thinking about getting one, but I don't want to be doomed to plastic mags. Anyone used the metal mags? Pluses or minuses? Thanks.

BigChongus 765
I've got two for my 5.45. They function and fit perfectly, and IMO look pretty sweet. Nothing wrong with surplus Russian polys, though. I've got 8 of those and love them. Edited February 14, 2011 by W8lifter
essohbe 47
I have 2 tantal mags. They work fine but one only holds 29 rounds (WTF?) ... They snap in real nice like the Russian plum mags. I have some Bulgy's and they've all been a real tight fit on my rifle. I even sold one that almost wouldn't go in at all. I f I can I'd sell the Bulgy one's and get tantal ones in their place. Anyone use Romanian steel SAR mags? Edited February 14, 2011 by Kalashniklown
toshbar 36
Bulgy reinforced plastic gets my monies.
