Eh, I wouldn't bother. 10 gauge is fun for a bit, then when you have to start paying for lots of ammo, it will wear you down. Over a buck a shot and a large amount of recoil doesn't really do it for me. I know what you're saying though, it could be fun. The funny thing is that 10 gauge is the first real gun I shot. Blew itself right out of my hands. The buckshot/slug is not that much more impressive than 12. Just louder and more recoil. I'd get a nicer 12 before I got a 10.

I've shot ~200 rounds through the SIG516. It's not a bad rifle, relatively light, and fairly accurate. Real loud though. I'm not a fan of AR-style rifles as a general rule, they just don't fit me well, but this one was pretty close. As an extra bump for their reliability, the 516 I shot didn't even have grease on it, just Rem oil. The guy who let me try his rifle out hadn't really looked into grease and disliked cleaning his weapons, but this gun still ran well. It's not a knock on the guy cause I like him, but it's not the way I would treat a rifle that expensive. I didn't vote

This is somewhere in the realm of myth and chemistry. I've heard of stainless steel for removing onion and garlic smell, but have never had this work for me. I've tried using spoons and such, no luck. This kind of thing might work if it's impregnated with either colloidal silver or copper, both of which are poisonous to bacteria. The bacteria is what is responsible for the smell, it's actually them degrading your sweat and other secretions. GOB is right. I was looking at doing something like this for a first house. Totally customizable, and if you need more space you get another container and weld it on. Need guest quarters? Get a half-size and weld it on. They also come in tall sizes, so you could have one with 10 ft ceilings. The other option is geodesic dome homes. This is another thing I seriously considered. The biggest problem I have with this show is that it's giving me too many ideas and adding to the list of guns I need. Also, the fact it is distracting me from a project for school isn't helping to sweeten the pot either. Ah well, it's good to see someone from the firearms industry highlighted in a positive manner.

The addiction isn't really as bad as I was saying, it was more of a joke. It was more when I turned 18, I got hooked on scratch tickets. I was buying them 20 at a time and having a blast. I think you've got me hooked, I'm afraid to admit. I just liked watching the numbers run around, and the possibility of a deal. But, I also had a bit of a gambling addiction for awhile. How much do these "pennies" cost? It seems to me like some kind of token-style game, a Chuck E. Cheese exchange for tickets thing. I may have to register and report back.

Has anyone here used the metal Tantal/5.45 mags in their Saiga? I shot a 5.45 last week for the first time in years, and I remembered how much fun it is. I am thinking about getting one, but I don't want to be doomed to plastic mags. Anyone used the metal mags? Pluses or minuses? Thanks.

Good luck with it, and I hope someone else chimes in with their experience. I'd be nervous about shooting it if it isn't absolutely square. Check around an see what you can find.

Did you use any sort of cutting oil when you were using the die cutter? Any kind of lubricant works wonders when you are threading metal, I'll bet even motor oil would work. It looks like it started to go off track and cracked/flaked off. How'd the threads come out? Edit to Add: I'd go far enough to have all the threads engage on the muzzle brake. Otherwise, you'll have to clean gunk from the unused threads.

I think it's be hard to turn or manuever at all. I don't think they would be looked upon too kindly, depending on where you are. I wouldn't bother with them. Out by me, there a couple trucks that have them, they're used to groom the snowmobile trails. To be honest, as far as being a winter warrior, it's hard to beat a good quality set of studded snows and good driving skills. Also, out here, you can run studded snows year-round.
