Scott Kenny 144
Looks like you might want to run a 'cleaner' tap thru your gas plug threads, your welding may have messed them up slightly.
smartbomb 133
Looks like you might want to run a 'cleaner' tap thru your gas plug threads, your welding may have messed them up slightly. yes it was not too bad from the weld and came clean with a wire brush. the worst part about the threads was from the previous owner, the knob was frozen to the point of frustration. it took a 3 foot breaker bar and some heat to get the gas knob out. i cannot figure out what he did other than never cleaning. all 3 ports were gummed closed and there were chunks of lead in the gas tube. i did tweak the threads removing the gas knob. what are the thread specs. i could use some info on a tap. funny thing tho, this shit isnt to hard to do. i am nowhere near skilled as most of the guys here. the biggest issue is just grabbing it by the balls and doing it. the worse that can happen is f'ing up a perfectly good gun. DavidQ 170
What do you plan on attaching the pistol grip to? I see no pistol grip nut hole and you already have a triggerguard on.
smartbomb 133
right behind the trigger guard i drilled 1/4" hole. on my 12 i used a stainless t nut that has held very well. its solid and there is no twist.
