djplaguedaddy 1
So Ive been giving my new Saiga 20 a workout. I got a low brass kit from Carolina Shooters Supply and installed it. Im still having problems. The Winchester Slugs are the only thing that will feed properly. Everything else gets hung up. What should I try next?
going12220 125
gas ports, how many are there? Clean and Clear? how well does the puck fit, is it snug? area around the bolt clean and a light coat of oil, bolt moves freely. i've seen a couple that the ejector to the bolt area (not the extractor on the bolt, the slot on the bolt and the ejector on the frame) had some interference. just general break in, note that sometimes 1 oz bird shot is needed for a while till you get some wear on the mating parts that move during cycling. good luck with it and let us hear how it all works out. djplaguedaddy 1
gas port is clean and clear, puck moves perfect. the problem occurs before the weapon is even discharged. the cheep Winchester slugs that i get at a local retailer feed fine. everything else jams up. the brass on the slugs is taller than everything else i put in my Saiga. am I stuck with only using the higher brass, might this be a problem with the mags? magsite20 1,664
you're saying gas port as in 1, should be more than 1. a 19" barrel gun has 3. if high brass slugs cycle and lighter loads don't I'd still be looking at the gas system not the mag yet.
csspecs 1,987
Ok which shells have you tried? I have found in the past that the best hull for my Saiga-20 was the Remington sport loads. They are bulk packed at walmart. Also which mag are you using? because the 20 gauge normally comes with a short mag for 2 3/4 shells and a longer one for 3 inch. 70mm is the short one and 76mm the long one. Buford T Justice 17
I say don't screw with it a new gun should work properly. Send it in for warranty work. That is what I did and just got it back and it works perfect. It was more fun than I thought it would be and put a big smile on my face.
djplaguedaddy 1
It's working great now. It's partial to AA ammo.

Buford T Justice 17
I haven't done much with it since getting it back from warranty work but so far Federal and Winchester are doing fine. As well as it seems to be feeding I have a feeling it will take about anything. Before sending it in every round jammed.
