NickWhite 7
I finished my conversion yesterday and I realized I can still fire it with the safety on. Is the common for conversions? Edited July 26, 2011 by Nick9130White
Mephis 82
For some people it is, such are things with loose tolerances and drunken employees. You'll need to build up the safety lever's tab that contacts the trigger. Remember when building up that tab, that it has to be notched so that it can clear the disconnector when you go to install it. If you have a buddy who has a mig welder, you should be able to do this with just a tack weld worth of a bump and a file to tweak it afterwards. I saved a picture when someone posted it on the forums since I figured it may come in handy for a time like this. Edited July 26, 2011 by Tombs
NickWhite 7
Ohh that makes sence. I'm actually not to concerned about it, I never use it. I was just wondering if it was my error or it just happends. I was also wondering if there's a way to test that everythings working fine without going to the range. BrutalGardener 205
Actually, Saiga 308 safety tabs are generally shorter than other Saiga/AK ones. This has been brought to light a loooong time ago. This is why Dinzag's Saiga 308 FCGs some with extra material welded onto the right trigger leg.
frz1197 128
I actually had to take material off of my safety to get it to fit. I've been thinking of getting a few of the krebs safeties. Any one tried one on the 308?

Any one tried one on the 308? It was a perfect fit on mine. Almost no trigger play. I do have a Dinzag modified trigger tho.
3rdgeargrndrr 31
modify the safety lever selector with a bho notch, there was a little too much play in mine after the tapco g2 conversion and i also just pulled the bho tab, so i needed one anyhow Edited September 3, 2011 by 3rdgeargrndrr
TackDriver 1
Standard AK safety fixed my problem, and every other converted S.308 I've seen one used in.
CJS3 3
I've never understood why the parts/accessory companies don't include a new safety as part of a 922 conversion kit. Hell, it could be another USA part.

Hell, it could be another USA part. Thats not a bad idea. The deal could be sweetened somewhat by optionally notching the safety for a BHO like the kreb offering just sans the high price. Trouble free install = happy customer.
