finishman2000 2
I have started to convert my 7.62 since the 5.45x39 went so smooth. with the 7.62 i have a threaded barrel (surprised) where with the 5.45 i didn't and used a 24mm fsb. So my question are: where can i find a new fsb without the 24mm threads and shorter than the stock one I beat to remove (can't reuse it)? I looked around and couldn't find one listed at the usual places listed here on this forum used for conversion parts. second, I'll need a the flash hider with 14mm threads, would like the ak74 style if possible. thx cas
stnls1911 55
If you haven't already removed the FSB; you can use a $10 pipe cutter at Lowe's and cut the shroud on your existing FSB. You shouldn't have to replace the factory FSB if you cut the shroud and have factory threads. http://forum.saiga-1...post__p__644024 http://store.carolin...-308/Categories Hope this helps. finishman2000 2
apex guns has a bulgarian without threads for 15. saw that but the inside dia is a little big. think it would be a problem?
GregM1 241
where are you getting the inner diameter measurements? it should fit fine. ak 47 & 74 barrels are the same outer diameter at the muzzle.
finishman2000 2
the one you are talking about is something like .591 inside and the barrel on the saiga is .
GregM1 241
i gave no measurements but the only barrels sized in .591 that i know of are 20" barrel 223 saigas. as far as i know that is a standard size ak block and should fit a standard barreled saiga fine. where did you find other information on measurements of this block for my future reference? i dont want to recommend wrong items. euhysh 0
I'm wondering this as well, I need something that is a direct replacement of the FSB since mine is kind of messed up.

K-Var posts the sizes. the ,591 is the size where the gas block is, the saiga's seem to be stepped down to .571. i'm playing around in my head to cut and recrown the muzzle and tig a fh on, keeping the 16" oa. i'll prob end up just spending the extra bucks and bee down with it. GregM1 241
thanks for that. instead of cutting a barrel. why not buy a 24mm threaded bulgarian FSB and cut the threads off? i know those fit. i have one on my saiga.
