mike12345 18
Why this dident go into full production is beyond me. All it needed was a smaller magwell or upgrade to a 5.56mm carbine. Not mine
Scott Kenny 144
Because the original movie prop was a SPAS-12 with some fancy crap on it.
mike12345 18
no it was a working thompson and SPAS shotgun. The movie prop was a proof of concept that could have been a full production gun.
Scott Kenny 144
Sigh. Only in hollywood will you see the two heaviest weapons of their type combined TOGETHER into a single monstrosity. No wonder everyone's biceps were rippling trying to hold the damn things... Now, if you could actually get 10mm caseless RIFLE ammo to work (launching 200+gr HEAP rounds at 2800fps), and the XM25's airburst grenade launcher, all in a container that's only 10lbs loaded, you would have a best-seller! MT Predator 2,294
They must have had ejection problems with the shotty as he tilts the weapon to the side before ejecting each hull. I saw kits somewhere for that thing but I cannot remember where. Edited October 23, 2011 by MT Predator
mike12345 18
it could have been done with lighter materials. sure the thompson is heavy but modern .45 SMG's like UMP or Kriss super v are 6lb guns. The M4 rifles we use now are 6lbs. Plenty of room for the addition of a light weight shotgun.
MT Predator 2,294
The M4 rifles we use now are 6lbs. 6 lbs bare naked! Start adding shit to a bone stock M4 Carbine. Replacing the stock plastic handguards with a quad rail will get the ball rolling to some weight gain. Then you have rails to put more stuff on...

Then you have rails to put more stuff on... and on stuff goes...before long the weapon weighs in at 9+ pounds loaded, depending on the set up. the m26 and the m203 both weigh in right at 3 pounds. then you add optics ect. and your on your way to a slightly heavy weapon platform. sidenote: are our boys even fielding the m26 yet? just curious. bigj480 203
It wasn't produced because it is an expensive range toy with no real use. http://www.max-11.com/TopSecret.html
