bkbville 0
What's the best way to modify the standard forearm on the Saiga? I drilled some vent holes, but want to make them more oblong. I find this material very difficult to work with, even with my dremel. any magic bullets here?
DrThunder88 912
What kind of rotary bits are you using?
G O B 3,516
Mark carefully, drill undersized holes, connect with sanding disks and drums using the Dremmel, hand file to finished slot or hole size.
Red Star 38
there is actually a piece of metal that runs in the polymer of the stock handguard. Was a pain in the ass cutting through. so watch out for that
Bigtwin 219
Sky is the limit, I also have no "magic bullet" tips for ya! Go slow and remember you can always remove more plastic.....it is much more difficult to add it! One thing I can add, when you are done with the mods the plastic will have a white look, put some WD-40 on a rag and wipe the area with the rag. That will blend it back and last quite a while (close to a year for me)! Don't wipe the entire for stock just the areas you cut/sanded. Keep it light.
ChileRelleno 7,071
Measure & mark carefully, drill undersized holes, connect with using Dremel with cutoff wheel, use small round/flat hand files to finish and then a fine grit sandpaper to smooth and blend.
