GrandLotus 0
Hello everyone. I tryed a search and have come up with no information. My local gunsmith (who does excellent work) does not want to thread the end of my WASR 10/62 or MAK 90. I want to add a flash suppressor to the end of each of these firearms. So, my question is: Can I weld on these muzzle breaks and if so what is my best bet? The MAK 90 has a ribbed barrel and I belive threading is impossible on these types anyways. Thank you for positive replys!
WhiskeyMinion 300
You can weld if you want but most of the time it looks tacky. Most permanent brakes are pinned on which looks much cleaner IMO. Edited March 4, 2012 by WhiskeyMinion
G O B 3,516
A welded brake is like a tattoo. Hope you still like it tomorrow -it ain't coming off painlessly!

jimdigriz 580
I would say to find another gunsmith, one who is skilled working with AKs and who does not try to convince you to do what is easy and convenient for him but which will lead to a less than desirable result.
