Tromix S17 + CGW Suppressor = 100% Win!

Recommended Posts

Finally got to try out my new Cadiz Gun Works 12 gauge suppressor yesterday. After nearly two years of pre-order purgatory I'm happy to finally post some video of this can in action on my Tromix 8" SBS.

For comparison, here it is beside my full size S12 which has a permanantly attached flash hider at 18.25". The can is 10" OAL.

Heres my first run with this can, shooting both unsuppressed birdshot and suppressed with bird and buck.

(Short video but still features nearly 30 seconds worth of threading! Sorry!)

Heres my wife getting in on the action. I think she liked it.

And here she is shooting some cans with the 18" S12. We had a good time.

Also shot some clays with both guns as well, with plenty of solid hits. I only ran the can dry, did not add any water or gel. Maybe I'll try that next time. All in all I'd say this thing definately suppresses the considerable noise of a shotgun blast but it is still definately not "hearing safe". There is no way I'd shoot this without some kind of earplugs. We put about 150 or so rounds through it of mostly federal bulk birdshot with virtually no issues. I did not have to adjust my usual gas settings from their typical positions. I'm also pleased to report that the can did not fill up with plastic shavings or residue.

Fun stuff. Worth it? I guess thats all in the eye of the respective/prospective owners.

Hmm, now I'm reconsidering the viability of the Saiga .410 platform. And K-var has those converted AK74-style S410s that are just begging for a can...

I'd need some sort of thread adapter...

what kind of mag release are you using? looks nice.

The shorty has an extended release I believe by JT Engineering, the 18" gun has an ambi release by RAM mfg. I strongly recommend extended mag releases for any S12, really speeds up reloads.
