ms33837 33
I just got my Vepr 12 and would like to change the wood stock. I removed the top screw and it looks like there is a pin thru the stock. Do I have to drive this pin out I do not want to try and damage the stock or gun so I thought I would ask first. Any help would be appreciated Edited November 6, 2012 by dogman33836
ec4321 113
Don't mess with the pins. There are two screws into the stock. One outside the dust cover and one inside the dust cover. Remove them both. Jam that bitch out.
iteachsurfing 50
PIA to get out as it is easy to damage the Laminate when prying. (After removing screws) Go Slow prying a little bit from different parts to slowly ease it out. Be careful not to damage the finish of the receiver. (electrical tape over Flathead screwdriver helps) Once 1/4 to 1/2 inch out ... mine came out easy with a little side to side wiggle ... LOL "that sounded funny"

iteachsurfing 50
THanks for the info I didn't see the second screw in dust cover Once you open the dust cover, remove the recoil spring assembly by pushing back. you will see the second screw underneath where the recoil spring assembly was positioned. Hope that helps Also just found this Vid ... go straight to 7:35 to see idea for stock removal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtDd4Zf9Xks&feature=related
gunfun 3,931
Tap on the top and bottom of the stock alternating. It will work free. I believe the traditional tool is a rubber soled shoe, but you can make do with a rubber mallet.
