Gabriel Quartrone 1 Posted February 7, 2013 Report Share Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) I think you will find the Unimog Doka (crew cab) a disappointment on the highway as well as comfort room! The speed that they can travel is SLOW and reverse and that is with the high speed axles! Not only that a lot of Older 404 Unimogs have brass bushings in the axles and you can not modify them to accept bearings. Brass bushings wont take a 3 hr trip at 45mph very well and you will forever be replacing them and the parts are high! Stick with a bobbed Deuce and you will keep it for Life without many issues as long as you keep the RPM under 2600!
