I love the part where you have to register all "assault weapons" and renew that license as well as pay every time! Not to mention the police can do a search of your home where it is registered! While this is going on,and no thing against the good LEO's out there-the police are looking more and more like the military-every time swat is called they have ski masks/balaklavas,all black,armed to the hilt,and in my area-the city of santa ana has an APC WITH the M60/ M2 mount ready to go,and they have it all blacked out EXCEPT for the words-'RESCUE VEHICLE' .Yea right.....I saw this thing at a gun show once and asked the cop some legit questions concerning its use and I received a hostile response from him and then a couple of his 'swat buddies' came over and told me to basically 'mind your own biz' I told them 'as a citizen, staying informed one way or another IS my business and since my taxes contribute to your salaries what you do IS MY BUSINESS!!!- at that point I was getting a 'feeling' about these characters and just left....I better not see these characters in my city-I will call the city police on them-matter of fact,the Santa Ana police were doing undercover stuff in my city and the staging area was a building behind my house that was vacant at the timme,all I saw were some scruffy looking guys loitering late at night in the parking lot,then I saw some pistols and shotguns,that is when I called the cops-needless to say there was a flap and especiallyy when my city police were not informed about the activites! About the black ski masked SWAT guys, when I went on actice duty I got issued a sh*t load additional stuff including that black mask with the oval face opening, I call it "my terrorist mask" (since you always see the training videos of al Quada wearing them) ....my unit was not amused. ...but hey, the US reigns terror down on people to, just ask anyone in Somolia, Panama, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Japan, Germany, Italy, Cuba, Korea, Haiti, Lebanon, Libya, and any Indians you might happen to see locally! thousand son 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Report Share Posted April 1, 2004 Hey KY, I did not know you were also SWAT but I am glad that you can relate and were not offended,it just seems that the way the SWAT ,Sheriff 'Rescue Units'-as they are called here-,'anti terrorist police units' etc are kitted out raises some issues. It also seems that quite a # of the members are a bit too power hunger,gung ho,and arrogant for my tastes.I realize it is a dangerous job and all but alienating the '-citizenry' is not the way 'to win friends and influence people'. Also I have read of at least 2 incidents where the units-based on wromg intel- raided the homes of people and deaths of the owners resulted. 1 was where a raid was done one on a resideence where a single woman lived,she was asleep,heard a crash and woke up to a # of black mask,black dressed men coming in her room and window,she reached for her revolv acting in self defense and they shot her de-the house they needed to raid was 2 down the road,they said 'sorry our mistake 'to the relatives and that was the end of their apology-last I read it was in court.-they had no badges displayed,did not yell 'police' no police patches on their vests,etc. nothing. 2. A raid on an apartment resulted in the death of a preacher-again the dept issued an 'sorry it was an honest mistake...' they were 3 floors off on the apartment. I guess my biggest issue with this is -if I am asleep and I here a window bust,door bust,etc and my or my family's lives are at risk because I see someone in black armed and no way to id them,I am shoot first and ask later,and I do not shoot to wound. I say this because there have been home invasions where there are 4-5 suspects all dresseed the same,USUALLY they occur in the more asian populated areas but.....and even IF I would survive I would be charged with killing cops regardless if theey fucked up on their end. And the way ANYBODY can do an ANONYYMOUS tip for anything even just to get back at you,can result in some BAD MUGUMBO!!! Back to the topic-hey NED, has this passed already? on one of your other posts you sound as if it had,buy what you can while you can!!! shotgun_lobotomy 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Report Share Posted April 1, 2004 im from pa too, i dont see this going thro at all because pa has always been a state filled with guns, i dont think i know anyone around here without a gun, our gun permits are "shall issue" this is just some democratic bullsh*t. signing this bill in this state is like saying u dont want elected next year. but either way im writeing everyone i can think of from the reps to the gov to local nra, ill be posting copies of this law at the 3 gun ranges im a member of and telling them to do the same. what i dont get is im allowed to carry a 45 with me into a mall but the are saying that my ak in the closet is so much more dangerous that the have to ban it, from what im seeing its gonna cover any thing that has had a high-cap clip for it, that includes 1911's and beretta 92 and glock! They have all kinds of federal laws going up for vote, too. Basically, there is a liberal movement to ban everything semiautomatic that takes magazines. I plan to purchase as many guns as I can manage this summer, myself. I already have a decent amount of stuff that will legally grandfather if the worst happens. Screw banning the sale or transfer. Rendell was the one who started the lawsuits against gun makers in an attempt to put them out of business. Thanks to him gun prices skyrocketed. He also tried to suppress the military vote of our brave servicemen and women while allowing imprisoned felons to vote in the presidential election of 2004. You'll need a conservative governor when that scumbag Arlen Spector kicks the bucket (hopefully after a pro gun governor is elected) so you won't have another DemonRat senator to replace Spector.
