csspecs 1,987
I'm going to list to the case of 500 since that is the most common price break. And items in stock as of posting. Aimsurplus has PPU .308 FMJ brass cased $287.50 500 rds JGsales has WPA and Tula .308 FMJ steel cased for $230.00 500 rds They also have barnaul .308 for $300 per 500 rds but you can get brass for less. Cheaperthandirt (yes we all hate them) Has lake city M80 for $299 per 500 which is pretty good lately. Ammoman has PMC .308 FMJ for $350 for 500 rds delivered. They also have S&B corrosive surplus for $320 for 500 rds delivered, however this seems a touch high for 40 year old, unreloadable, corrosive surplus. Samco shows "mildly tarnished" S&B surplus for $184.50 for 500 plus shipping. Also shows Portugal .308 with mild tarnishing for $224.50 per 500 plus shipping.
ChileRelleno 7,071
This thread over at m14forums.com is a great resource for finding/pricing .308 ammo. He updates it very regularly. http://m14forum.com/ammunition/23308-cheapest-7-62x51mm-surplus-internet-updated-often-so-check-back.html
ChileRelleno 7,071
PSA has Federal American Eagle 7.62x51mm 149gr FMJ Ball 500rds XM80CS http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/308-7-62/lake-city-xm80cs-7-62x51-headstamp-with-nato-cross-500rd-bulk-pack.html I bought a 500rd case of Lake City 149gr M80 .308 from Military Shooters LLC http://shop.militaryshooters.com/catalog/product.asp?ret_id=140211&pid=1030588 It was $.64 per round after shipping. That Port at Samco is almost all gone, the Swedish is gone. All of it was listed as tarnished/corroded, an up to 20% was trash according to m14forum.com members who have been buying it up like mad. csspecs 1,987
SGammo has steel cased old stock wolf and new WPA made by barnaul for the same price of $224 per 500 with $16 shipping.. I'd suggest getting the new stuff since its the same price. Not an amazing deal on the old stock since it sold for less than $150 a case back then.
gunman1 1,753
I'm buying .308 Winchester FMJ BT 145 gr, .65 cents per round out the door at my LGS. I go in once a week and buy two 20 round boxes of that and a brick of .22 lr for $30, it has really begun to add up

Rhodes1968 1,638
Hopefully reloading components will become easier/cheaper, right now cheap brass is a problem.

Boyd Crowder 16
Is the Colt branded ammo coming out of the Barnaul factory in Russia the same as Silver Bear? If so Im gonna snag some .308 from SGammo, the Silver Bear soft points are my favorite x39 round but I cant find the SB in .
csspecs 1,987
My understanding is that "colt" is Barnaul, and should be roughly the same as silver bear.
