NM0 586
We had to put an old girl down just after the holidays. This little girl came home with us today. She is an Aussie Sheppard mutt about a year old (so the pound says) and is in the cage to help the other dogs get adjusted (mainly the pit cross who likes to kill). She was outside earlier with our big brown dog and had no issues. Thought I would share her wild white eyes. Kind of freaky. Will take better snap shots later.
HighPlainsDrifter 466
Thanks for sharing, it's a nice reminder not to get stuck in grief. Minutes ago I just made the dreaded appointment to put my 13 yr old German Shepherd down.
NM0 586
Sorry to hear about what you're getting ready to go through. Over the years we've had to put three down and one passed at home. All were in my arms. Stressful and sad but part of the whole circle of life. We love dogs too much to not continue enjoying them. There's no replacing the previous ones...just new adventures ahead. Be strong.
NM0 586
This dog seems very happy outdoors. Now the name game begins.

Maxwelhse 1,285
That's a VERY beautiful dog. I don't have much experience with mutts, but if she's at least 1/2 Shepard she'll be a GREAT dog. Shepard's are the best in my book! SMART and loving dogs. edit: Names are very personal, but I'd name her "Doll Eyes" and call her "Doll" or "Eyes" for short... 1 - That's accurate, that dog has beautiful baby doll eyes... 2 - You can always make jokes about her rolling her eyes back in her head like a shark when she kills something... 3 - That is until some other personality trait pops up... I had a cat named Harley. He was all black with 13 white hairs on his chest (no shit.. I counted them)... purred the loudest of any cat I've ever heard even as a kitten. He just showed up one day at my Dad's business, started following him around, and was clearly tame so we brought him home. I have a cousin that had a Sheppard named "Nosey"... guess why? Dog was always into everything (not in a bad way, just wanted in on the fun). GREAT dog. I was maybe 3 or 4 when I remember the dog and she was GREAT with me and my older cousins. I used to make my mom get dog bones before we'd head up to the lake so I could pet Nosey. Side note, that same cousin is now in his 60s, has ailing health, and now has 2 Chihuahua's (Marine Corp MP vet, BIG man, STILL rides his GL-1300 with his cane, hard as they come with a huge heart), one is named Taco and Taco doesn't miss a bike ride. They're annoying as shit to me, but he likes them. Edited March 21, 2014 by Maxwelhse

Spartacus 1,619
Very cool looking dog! As was said, those eyes are really something. You could call her "Zooey".
Maxwelhse 1,285
You could call her "Zooey". ...if you're a queer. Name your Dog whatever you think is proper, but it seems like you appreciated "Doll Eyes".. If she were mine I'd call her that and call after her as "Doll"... "Angel Eyes" comes to mind as well.. Call her by Angel... If she were a boy I'd nominate for "Sue" in a minute. Of course... Since you said it first, I think "New Edition" has some merit (speaking of queer)... Call her Ned? j/k j/k!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFjhdqB4_EY Or just "Bitch"... You can talk about slapping your bitch or wrestling your bitch to the ground.... Ronin38 2,117
With the eyes and coloring, I think "Spirit Shadow" would be cool. Use either name for the "short" version.
NM0 586
Thanks for the compliments and name suggestions. The name will come in time. Her personality won't show well till she has more interaction with the other dogs. Took us a few weeks to name the last dog Panzer, and only a couple days for Magnum.
David Mark 2,452
Beautiful Dog NMO! My vote would be "Blaze" for the eyes or "Dapple" for the coat. Best of luck working her into the pack. Edited March 21, 2014 by DaveM
Capt Nemo 882
Beautiful girl! And to those who are loosing their loved ones, I believe we are going to see them again! If we're going to come riding in with Jesus on white horses, that means there's horses in heaven! If there's horses, there's dogs! Just make sure you're going to heaven!

Spartacus 1,619
You could call her "Zooey". ...if you're a queer. I was thinking of beautiful women with bright blue eyes for a name, whereas your line of thinking is more big sweaty sailors on boats telling shark stories. Seems like it's always the homophobic guys calling everybody fags who turn out to be the closet cock suckers. Just saying.
NM0 586
Keep thinking her name may end up being Wily (Wile E.). She's got that coyote look about her. A real sweet heart but kind of freaky.
Ronin38 2,117
Looking at that picture, I couldn't help but think of the line from Malcolm Reynolds in "Serenity."

NM0 586
Sounds like an excellent name choice. Just keep her away from ACME Jet Packs. That's funny. Was waiting for someone to mention ACME. Been in and out all day with her and the other dogs. So far so good, two out of three dogs are fine with her. The pit cross is still wearing a muzzle. Seems like it's always the homophobic guys calling everybody fags who turn out to be the closet cock suckers. Just saying. A dog that weighs over 30lbs and has Shepard in it should be much closer to a sweaty sailor on a boat that kills sharks (I can't even believe we're having an argument based on that alone) than a "pretty girl" that only has a career because her Dad is a Hollywood big shot. My bigger point was that Zooey Decshanel only stars in chick flicks when I said "queer"... I would liken her works to those that gays would enjoy since they're basically women. In terms of my sexuality, I'm a secure hetero, but I do enjoy a nice big cock nailing some hot bitch in a decent porno (with envy). NOBODY wants to watch a porn and see a dude with a 1" cock fucking some hot bitch... That's just upsetting. Edited March 27, 2014 by Maxwelhse

NM0 586
The black Friday deal we couldn't pass up. 60% off at pound. Twenty bucks, fixed, chipped, full checkup with shots. Around one year old, 73lbs and knee high at the back. After losing two of our big dogs this year we are finally back to five in the pack. Third blue eyed rescue dog this year. POPO is the corgi mutt we picked up for free at the pound after Wily. Haven't figured out name for new one yet. Been calling him black dog. He is a good dog.

NM0 586
Man I pity the poor souls who have to read your gas & water meters. Thanks for compliments. Only a electric meter reader here. They pull up in the drive, stand in the bed of the truck and use binoculars. No one shows up unannounced.
