Spartacus 1,619
So they are going to confiscate firearms from those 278 people and leave everybody else alone right? I'd have to guess that NY officials are very disappointed they have such a low number to work with. I'd also expect that they will redefine and expand their mental fitness guidelines to keep upping that number.
Sim_Player 1,939
“We had another man who came in and voluntarily handed us his permit and gave his weapons to the police and said, ‘I don’t want them anymore,’” Larkin said. That's better than a boating accident, if you wanted to go that route.
Sneak 81
But Eric Holder refuses to discriminate / profile based on age, sex, race, country of origin, etc. I guess they can still discriminate based on mental health and the desire to seek professional help. storm6490 2,768
I have always been very skeptical about any statutes that would allow the confiscation of weapons from those deemed mentally unstable. This process already exists and is done in a court of law and takes experts and professionals on both sides to determine if the man is sane or insane. There is a formal process that is not taken lightly. There are people with certificates of competency who issue certificates of competency. In other words, sane and unbiased people determine if you are competent to handle your affairs. If this NYC horse hockey takes away guns, they need to declare the individual incompetent so that they may not drive a car, operate heavy machinery, operate firearms, handle explosives or combustibles and esentially become a ward of the state. This is why the formal, and legal, process of a competency hearing is so important. You don't just restrict one hazard or responsibility, you restrict them all! The wounded warriors have worked with the mental health and anti gunners to take firearms from veterans. Go look into it yourself. This is complete bullshit. If you take their guns for being a vet, you better take it all and take care of them. Using a statute to disarm people is very shady and illegal. It's very Nazi esque. If someone it trully nuts, there is a process to follow. Nobody from the VA or some alphabet agency, sitting behind a desk can take your rights away. A jury of your peers, competent witnesses and a court of law can legally take your guns but that wont be all they take. This rampant communism needs to be stopped or there will be a revolution. The sheep who blindly follow this communist shit should consider who they are following down a very slippery and dangerous slope.
Dad2142Dad 6,559
No one wants to tackle the mental health issue, even after CO and CT incidents.
XD45 7,124
The issue is guns. The problem is guns. The solution is guns. Guns make your children less safe. Guns in the home will eventually kill someone. Nobody needs a gun. That's what the police are for. They have guns. If you take away the guns the mental health issue becomes much easier to deal with. thebuns1 4,323
The real problem is people in power don't want us to be able to defend ourselves. Its a rigged system designed at dismantling our desire to protect us and ours. The mental health issues have little to do with guns, and more to do with attacking our liberties in a shitty manner. Bad guys with bad intentions find ways to do bad things. No laws can prevent that. Its only going to get worse.

storm6490 2,768
No one wants to tackle the mental health issue, even after CO and CT incidents. That's because there is a billion dollar industry pushing pills on kids without any liability for the fucked up reactions they have on psychoactive drugs. They don't want to get into the pesky statistics of how many nut cases were already on MAOI or some other narcotic or mind altering drug before they went off the deep end. They have lobbyists to pass laws to protect them from side effects of the drugs and don't want the negative attention it would give their splended little symptom treatment pills.
Spartacus 1,619
No one wants to tackle the mental health issue, even after CO and CT incidents. All of that, plus we can't ignore how .gov wants to keep everything about Sandy Hook a secret and how the official narrative has big problems. Many of these incidents seem staged or "manufactured". Before anybody rolls their eyes, yes I know we've covered the staged events (false flags) many times. Edited December 10, 2014 by Spartacus
