Sim_Player 1,939
The yellow areas are deemed "owned" by the Fed and managed bt the BLM, for whatever reason. Many site endangered species. In Oregon, ranchers homes and cattle are being burned out (literally) of land that where they have raised cattle since the 1800's. The BLM set fire to grasslands where ranchers refused to leave. Many cattle were severely burned and property was lost. Why set fire to land that have endangered animals? Something else is going on. American Media are covering this stuff up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_land
scattergun10 125
I did a double-take at the thread title at first thinking BLM was black lives matter, then I realized that you are of course referring to the bureau of land management.(duh!)

Dad2142Dad 6,559
Land grabbing has been happening since the beginning. Now as to the why? Well can be money, metals, oil, uranium, politics, civil war, slavery.... you name it and it has been used as an excuse. The latest endangered species bullpucky is a Trojan horse just like global warming. 99% of all species who have lived on this rock are extinct, so will humans at some point. Only one way to fix it....
HB of CJ 1,263
Dad2142Dad is right and thank you. The BLM seems to be a Western USA thing. How much BLM land does New York or Virginia have? Yep. it was an excuse to use our own federal government against us to tie up land, resources, wealth, etc.. The powers that be were/are very greedy. Lots of money was/is being made. A good example was the Western expansion of our Railroads in the 1860s 70s and 80s. Fortunes were made for those connected with Washington. Connecting up the Nation transportation network was just an afterthought. Yikes again. HB
