  1. Don't you find it interesting that you and I are the ONLY ones commenting in this thread? Not sure what it means...just interesting. -Emt1581 Probably cause this "issue" has been discussed before at great length with a couple different solutions suitable for a couple different needs. Easily found using the search feature on the board. Search, search and more search. Pretty soon this forum is going to be a search engine and not a forum. I wonder why there are certain topics that get beat to death and no one says anything. But when certain people open a topic that had been di
  2. Thanks I am interested to see how that works. I didn't know there was a picatinny mount HK sight available, that is great. That answers my concern, because I was talking to some guys when this question came up. I was leaning toward a rail, but I wanted BU iron sights. What you just posted that solves the problem completely. Thanks again
  3. Mine doesn't move much, I was more under the impression when you removed the dust cover and replaced it, the sight were now off. But now that I think of it, how far off can they be? An inch maybe two at twenty five meters? I think that is pretty reasonable when considering the use of this weapon...I think I got caught up in someone else's concerns. Thanks Gunfixer
  4. I want HK sights mine but I am kind of leary of the rear sight being on the dust cover. What would be the issue with mounting rear sight to the rear of the gas tube like the factory sights? I realize the distance between the aperatures is not optimal, but neither is mounting a sight to a movable object, or is it not that large of an issue? Thanks Darin
  5. That is the prez' of Magpul. He's got lotsa' cool toys.
  6. I'm more concerned with blowing an intruder straight to hell than worrying about the cops "borrowing" my gun. I'll be in the right, I'll get my gun back. Only gun I will NEVER take a chance with is my grandfather's WWII Ithaca 1911a1 (currently asleep in my lap). Just my .02 -Emt1581 Yeah but thats what my Mossy is for. As far as the Cops "borrowing guns," there has been one case that I know of for sure where I collected a firearm that was used justifiably as "evidence." THE JUDGE ordered the gun be destroyed even though the shooting was justified. From that moment on, I vo
  7. I'll shoot him a pm......I will not be taking my railed FA off, considering I had kill myself to get it on.....lol
  8. EMT1581-I noticed that we were the only ones talking, just assumed that no one had any input. Hobbyshooter-That is a good point from a safety standpoint. For me, my Saiga's stay in the safe. I don't want to take a chance on actually using the S12 and when the police show up, them taking it from me and tying it up in five years of preceedings. My Mossberg on the other hand, ah they can have it...lol
  9. Where are you? I have one off my S12 that is taking up space.
  10. Don't know if you know about it or not, but Cobra has a rail and it looks pretty nice. I plan on ordering one soon.
  11. I got two one from CGW/Tom who is a vendor here (but he is backed up pretty bad) and the other I had Henderson convert when CGW got backed up. My advice is to get on a list and get on it ASAP. Unfortunately, until you mentioned Freakshow, I only knew of two who would do a CA conversion.
  12. Thanks Havoc, I'll check that out-my wife is always telling me I need to read books. But I'm interested in the other pics in the series you got your avatar from....hehehehe
  13. Sorry about that 1911, I posted the same clip. It is the greatest movie line ever! Both of those clips won't play. What movie is it from or where did the clip come from? Thanks guys, so the definition is anything that wishes to cause harm whether it be real or not....
  14. Yeah with them sitting in the mag it looks to me like the pressure is on the rim and none on the plastic. But when it's loaded that pressure is transfered to the plastic.
  15. Nah otherwise they would deform in their boxes. The reason they deform when loaded against a closed bolt is because their being pushed (by the mag spring) against a hard object (the bolt) for a LONG period of time. Since the shell is soft, it deforms. I was just offering an on suggestion, and making it availible to scrutiny. I store mine with the bolt open. If there is a long/short term problem with this, I hope smeone will tell me otherwise. EMT1581-glad your back, hadn't seen any posts from you in a while...
  16. Liberals don'ts gots no ballz
  17. Maybe there is something that I am missing, but it seems the top round deforming in the mag is a concern to a lot of people. So what would be wrong with leaving the bolt locked back while the gun is stored with a mag in place? Or does this create an entirely new issue, other than the internals being more subjected to dust and dirt? Thanks
  18. Perfect, I 've got a ton of ideas for stickers, but I can't decide which ones to narrow it down to.
  19. Since it looks like you are attracted to all steel construction, check out a Beretta 92/96. Great gun, I had one while I went through the Academy.
  20. I agree with you that most law enforcement sniper engagement is 200 meter and under, most of that is 75 meters and under, but I can't see your claim that the Remington louses accuracy after that? What are you basing that on? That is a pretty strange claim for a sub .5 MOA rifle. I have a Remington 700P that I have used as a duty rifle for years, with it's Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm LR/T M1 (Model 56070) I guarantee that it will service a target far pass 200 yards. Granted the 700P uses the superior HS Precision stock, over the Hogue but otherwise similar rifles. When we looked into
