  1. I saw the .410 10 rounders listed for 49.95 on Kalashnikov USA's site but not sure about the shipping. Has anyone else ordred from them lately?
  2. The main reason I'm converting my Saiga to pg config. is because I'm still pissed at the rediculous U.S. gun laws that made them butcher my Maadi before I could own it. And like the Maadi they went to all kinds of trouble to keep the average Joe from being able to just slap a pg on a Saiga. So I had to go through all kinds of trouble to get it back the way I wanted it. Since the Saiga is right from Izhmash it is closer to being a real AK than my Maadi is so I want it to look like I believe M. Kalashnikov intended for it to look when he 1st came up with his simple but brilliant design. I think
  3. Isn't the floorplate part of the mag body on all Saiga shotguns, therefore not part of the parts count? And what about the disconnector? Some even come with threaded barrels and muzzle attachments.
  4. I just want to toss this out there for consideration. While doing the pg conversion on my 410 I have had all kinds of ideas about changing or adding this and that. The popular trend seems to be to deck it out with everything you can fit on there from rails, lights, optics, mag clamps, & shell caddies to vertical front grips and every kind of stock option. Dont' get me wrong I think all this stuff looks cool as hell and it's really cool seeing how each person comes up with different ideas and makes their own parts if need be. I'm all into that! Of course weight is a factor. My question thou
  5. Mbsk01, Nice job making the orig. trigger pin holes disappear. What do they call that style of choke with the holes all around. Anyone know? Is it supposed to function like a brake or hider? Why the holes?
  6. Very nice! Hey that's the first one I've seen like mine with no rear sight and the choke that looks like a flash hider. How old is that one? Is it from Kalashnikov USA?
  7. Nice! That's just what I was thinking of doing to my 410. Damn that thing's even wider than I thought. Fit's Over the outside of the Saiga forarm? Another one for the parts count!
  8. Has anyone else using the Barnaul ammo noticed curved dents in the side of the ejected cases about one inch up from the base?
  9. Duhuh? The plastic 2 3/4" shells I was referring to ARE 3" shells once they are fired and the crimp opens. Guess that's why they're labled 3" on the box. Just like the Barnaul is labled 410/70 for 70mm(=2 3/4") They are both 2 3/4" shells when loaded into the mag. They still can and do misfeed in many other people's Saigas besides mine and Chris410's who are also using the right mags and ammo. Consider yourself lucky IndyArms. But like I said mine has not had problems in a long time so maybe it's a break in thing with the mags or someting. I still love mine and I'm lookin forward to doing the
  10. Thanks guys. The Mak 90 is a Maadi Misr. (Egyptian/Chinese crossbreed) The stock is the original one that it was imported with it. It was bulky and very uncomfortable to handle, not to mention ugly. I just took it off and spent a few hours on it in the workshop. Cut the thumbhole out bigger and reshaped it and added the finger grooves with my dremmel and course sanding drum. Much better now! Still have not finished the wood. I'm not sure what kind of stain or finish would match best. Any suggestions? Chris I read your thread on feeding problems. That's wierd that yours only messes up with
  11. Here's my Saiga with her sister and cousin before conversions.
  12. There sure doesn't seem to be much traffic in this part of the forum. Are the 410's that unpopular compaired to the 12's and others? It would be cool to see a photo thread with some of your 410 conversions. That one over in the 12 guage section is awesome. If I can figure out how to post an image I will put up a before pic.
  13. OK thanks for the info. Looks like moving the trigger assy. is the only way then untill someone comes out with mags ,gas pistons, or handguards. Time to fire up the ol' dremmel.
  14. Man I was already inspired. Now I'm obsessed!! Nice work gentlemen. I've been hoping someone would start one of these threads over in the 410 section so I can get some more ideas.
  15. Thanks SS that is helpful. But I'm still not clear on a couple of things. Since the Saiga was not imported with a PG or a thumbhole stock(like the Mak 90), then if I remove the Russian stock and replace with a U.S. stock and PG, does that only count as one part towards compliance? Is this why Saiga20 said PG technically doesn't count? Also my 410 has some kind of device threaded on the outside of the barrel that looks more like a brake or flash hider than a choke. It has holes around the outside. Is this considered to be a choke therefore i need one extra compliance part? Damn these stupi
  16. Are there any U.S. made parts avail. for the 410 besides the trigger group? Gas pistons, handguards, etc.? I noticed that "trigger housings" are on the list of parts. What does that mean? Is that the same as the trigger guard? I have an extra Tapco G2 trigger group. Could I just replace the hammer and disconnector and not have to move the whole thing forward? Here's what I'm thinking about. If I replaced those two trigger parts, put on my Tapco folding stock, and pistol grip, that's 4. I just need one more part that's U.S. What else is there? Any ideas welcome and appreciated.
  17. Is that legal without changing out any more parts for U.S. ones? I wonder because I have a Tapco folder that I have altered to fit mine and could easily add a pistol grip( also U.S.) without changing the fcg configuration at all.
  18. Yes I do have the 410. I like it alot when it's not having feeding problems. The only real complaint other than that is mine for some reason does not have a rear sight. I've written to EAA a couple of times about it and can't get a response. Do they really exist? I ended up putting a scope on it because it shoots a couple of inches high at 25 yds with the slugs. That fixed that. I would very much like to modify it to look more like my AK. I have been tinkering with it some and thinking of different ways to do it. I have seen a few mods on this site that look pretty cool. As far as legality d
  19. Hello fellow Kalashnikov lovers! I'm new to this forum but love my Saiga and all it's kin. This forum looks like just what I have been looking for. From all that I have read so far this site is a great information source with friendly members. Happy shooting!
  20. How's it going with those .410 mags? Can you post some pics?
