  1. OK I am willing to help if I can but first I need to wrap my head around just exactly what you have. Does it look like one of these? And if so, what you are after in the end is a set of AK HGs that look like those but are made of wood? And you eventually want to replace the black SVD stock you have now with the same thing but wood as well? On the other subject, replacing the gas piston (puck) is very simple if you just field strip the weapon and remove the gas tube. I don't have this model but if it's the same as my Vepr 12 it should just come right out with the gas tube remo
  2. I hope they care enough about that blown up out of proportion, almighty shit don't ever stink reputation some of these assclowns around here like to keep on claiming they have just to justify their own spending habits. No brother I have not bought into any of it so I wish you the best. I have gone down the road with K Var's shitty customer service though in the past. Good luck hopefully Arsenal will claim it's a fluke and take good care of you for free.
  3. Oh no not the almighty end all be all better than anything anyone else has ever known great elite Arsenal! Really!
  4. And what is so bad about that might one ask? Those are two of the easiest things you can do to a Saiga.
  5. Jim let me know if you want any pics or anything of the AA drums for comparison. I have the 12 and 20 ga versions here.
  6. Been there done that. Still working great. Hoping to find someone to help me take my handmade parts and convert them to machine language and mass produce. Been on the back burner since 2009 here.
  7. I can modify any standard AK wood HGs to fit the larger barreled S-12 or Vepr. Did that in 2004 when I did the first ever AK wood on Sporter S-12 conversion with the Bulgarian set in my avatar. <<<<
  8. I have an original SVD stock around here someplace I bought years ago with intentions to do a Saiga / SVD clone. I never did find the wooden HGs and could only get a set of poly ones. I'd be willing to sell but from what I recall there would be some serious modding going on because of the funky receiver the SVD has.
  9. This is Jaws...AKA "Dozer" because of his habit of rearranging my whole tank any time he gets bored...lol. He's about 8 - 9" now but when I got him 5 yrs ago he was about the size of a quarter. Like Chile said they are very sociable and actually recognize and act differently around different people. Huge personality, surprising for a fish til you get to know them. Yeah I tried I don't know how many Plecos in there with mine too, none made it no matter what size. Always thought there must be something else wrong because I had a roomate once who had about a 12" Oscar and maybe an 8" Pleco
  10. If you or anyone else could post a good picture of the follower removed from the magazine, next to a ruler or a normal 5 rd Saiga mag I could tell just from that if my limiters will work. Basically I just need to know if there are any other differences besides the fact the LRBHO followers travel all the way to the top instead of stopping with one shell rim's width to go. As long as the total distance from the floor plate up to the inside top of the follower is the same it will work the same, assuming the total height of the mag body & feed lips is the same.
  11. If you want it done right you have to have the right equipment, a dremel ain't gonna cut it. It's also a lot of work (= time) involved so anyone like myself who does this as a business deserves to charge a fair price for all the time, experience, and money they have already invested in the process, not to mention the time it will take to do yours and ship it back. That's just the way it is. Used to be a guy here who liked to do it without charging enough for it. Pretty easy to see where that will lead someone...
  12. Yes i just need to actually have one here to use for the custom length to make a pattern from. Then I could offer them for the Legion imports too. I've just never seen one and wasn't sure why I saw the Russians referring to them as 4 rd mags. From the photos they appear the same as normal 5 rd Izzy mags. Maybe they just have a longer follower added? It would be much easier and cheaper for them to make a new follower design than a whole new mold for the bodies. If that is the case then the limiters I already have would work fine. This would be easy to determine by taking out the followers
  13. I have personally never seen a Saiga 12 mag that only holds 4 rounds. But then again I've never owned one with a factory LRBHO in it until my Vepr 12 came in, and even that one has a 5 rd mag. I've just never had one to design a limiter for except 2, 5, and 8 rd mags from Izhmash. If you want to send me your 4 rd mag I can make a custom length mag limiter that holds 2 perfectly with enough room to insert on a closed bolt but not enough to squeeze in a 3rd round.
  14. The Migratory Bird Act requires all bird hunting with shotguns to a maximum of 3 rounds in the gun at all times in the field. This is true for pumps and semi autos. The Saiga 12 shotgun comes standard with a 5 rd magazine from the factory and some that have the factory LRBHO come with a 4 round mag. Izhmash also makes an 8 rd and a 2rd mag but these are rare items to find in the US. I have a couple of the original 2 rd hunting mags as well as others I've made myself from cut down and plastic welded 5rd mags. I used to make and sell these. It isn't worth the expense or the trouble whe
  15. Haha yep. It's so comical year after year as dove season gets here watching these same posts pop up about trying to figure out what people can cram into their mags, chop down mags, and even go as far as attempting to build new mags just to get a reliable two round mag so they can hunt successfully with their Saiga. I always chime in and tell them about my exact copies of the Russian one that has long been tried and proven to work perfect, but that doesn't phase them....5 bucks is just too much to spend for perfection....lol. Funny.
  16. Happy Birthday buddy! Again...lol.... Hope this one is the bestest!
  17. I just added one on a regular K Var set. Of course the heat shield and the inside had to be milled out first to fit the huge barrel but the upper HG just mounted right on the Vepr gas tube.
  18. Not sure about the Vepr 5.45 setup because only Vepr I have is a 12 gauge. Here's what I did to it though and I like it much better. Never was a fan of the RPK ribbed HGs.
  19. Always glad to help anyone who will let me. Thank you for your business and for trusting me to get your weapon running the way it should run.
  20. Dammit Chile now you're gonna make me start doing that shit to my ARs too...lol. My M&P 5.45 would be lookin' kinda sweet like yours there!
  21. For about the last 8 or 9 years I've been making and selling galvanized steel inserts to limit mag capacity for hunting. They are exactly like the Russian mag capacity limiters and guaranteed to work exactly as they are intended, with no danger of hangups or holding too many rounds. They're only 5 bucks each. PM me if you want any.
  22. Thanks fellas! Just logged in, been a busy day! Had a great weekend and around 50 friends over yesterday and last night for the bash! Had a blast hosting my annual disc golf tournament here at my place, cooking out some killer food, drinking all the best drinks and chilling with the best of friends! Even had a swim party down at the pond to cool off from the warm weather. Good times!! Thanks for the kind words! Shot an 8 under par 46 the second round & showed I could still hang with the regular players after not playing at all for the past couple of yea
  23. I feel bad for the instructor and his family of course, and all of us for how this shit will play out in the news. Yes it was incredibly stupid and just like in the racing world with some idiot running out onto a racetrack playing Frogger with Sprint cars, hopefully a border has been crossed now to protect all of us from such idiocy in the shooting world. New rules will be put in place I hope. It could have been anyone behind the firing line too. They damned gun should have at least been tethered to the bench! That poor girl is definitely scarred for life now. https://www.youtube.
  24. Something else I like to do on mine is use a fine tipped red Sharpie on the "F" for fire, after first painting it white like that.
