so this vortex sight, under 50 yrds, as long as the dot is on say, a 6 inch target, its gonna hit?

Ok, so our local gun shop has a sale on guns: Glock .40 compact for $519 S&W M&P 9mm compact for $489 NOt sure which to get. THe guy says that the glock is a faster shooter, but is it really that much faster? he also said he'd go for the Glock because of reliability, but i think he was going on reputation b/c he also said he has had no reliability problems with either of them(he owns both, personally). i'd realy like a .45 but at these prices(they seem to be very good?) the 9mm is cheaper. i would be very interested in knowing if this is a good product. right now i only shoot a few hundred rounds a year, so it should be fine, but i graduate next year and, hopefully, will have a decent job and a better income to allow me to shoot more. It would be great to put on a cheaper red dot and have it work fine. BTW, is the paralax problem on some of these optics that big a deal?

Good points, but I ask you about the integral vs. derivative concept. Derivatives will give you an instantaneous number, whereas integrals give you a summation of constantly changing instantaneous numbers over some specific period. I think we're looking for the area under a curve with all these changing variables, aren't we. I'm pretty sure integrals are the deal. And the max pressure number is only on the barrel side of the ports. The pressure on the other side will build and the "max pressure" number will be way high because the delta will go down quickly as resistance build

im an engineering major. You probably will not solve this. Look at how many significant figures you are using for time. with that many sig figs you are going to be sitting there a very long time trying to figure it out b/c of all the input you need for prescision like that. like some of the other gentlemen have stated, to do what you are talking about, you will have to figure in the BC, friction, PV=nRT, F=ma, EVERYTHING. the ace block doesnt loo like it would work with an underfolder. someone posted once showing an auction on gunbroker of a guy that had achined a rear trunnion , a replacement, but he doesnt have any more. Know of anyone else?

I was looking at underfolders and think they are very badass. The problem, though, is that saiga's arent made for underfolders. Im trying to figure out how you would put one on and what the end cost would be. I would need a new rear trunnion, correct? where would i get one of those? After the rear trunion was obtained, it would be a simple matter of using the trunnion as a template and making the appropriate holes in the receiver, right? then just installing the kit as per googled instructions?

thanks for the link! im not sure i like how it looks, but i was thinking, i could definately use this one,(ad maybe a tapco?) for just the hinge/bolt-to-the-reciever part and fabricate teh actualy tock part with steel stock and a welder. Sound doable? i know i can make the stock and weld...

Ive been through 4 google pages and found some really cool stoks for paintball guns and such, but where are they? Im talking about folding stocks that are NOT made by tapco. An old beatup one is fine with me. I can refinish. NO more than $60? this may be unreasonable, idk. ideas?

Saigas only have numbers 1,2,3. I have a range near my house with 25, 50 and 100 YARD stands. What i am looking for is where the bullet needs to hit at what distance to get the trajectory to stay within a 6 inch tube out to 2-300m/yrds or whatever(aka. a further distance than i am likely to shoot.) They say sight dead on at 25m with the sight set to 1 and it will be on at 100, also. But at 25 YARDS where does the bul

i dont know about the saigas, but general rule of thumb for shot is a spread of 1" a yard, some will be a lot worse, some will be a lot better. kinda like saying ak's are 4moa guns. some are better, some are worse. more like guidelines. 00 buck is about .32 cal, i think. so it would be like shooting someone with a little keltech 9-12 times. 40 yards is about he effective range of 00 buck for hunting. As for slugs, sabot are generaly made for use with rifled barrels. the pumpkin balls are good out to 100-125 yards IF you know your trajectory. 125 is kinda stretching it, though. ive found an imp
