  1. It was disgusting how the CNN woman kept circling the discussion back around to, "No we don't condone the violence, but didn't you (the event lady) incite the violence?" and "Isn't it time we talk about a line on Free Speech?" Typical leftist crap.... the whole problem is the US Constitution. "Isn't it time to take away more rights?", seems to be their mantra. Yep, slow is fast, fast is slow. Time aim and fire carefully and slowly..... just make it quick.
  2. Nice rifles Gunfun. I do still like the 10/22, and it's still on my acquire list. Though I don't think I'll get a take down model like I was going to. Will probably get the stainless barrel with the basic synthetic stock. I was short on my .22 collection, just had the Marlin, Ruger SR-22 pistol, and now the AR. There's plenty of room for the 10/22 in the collection.
  3. Dunno.... maybe it was a "tactical" pistol. Whatever it was, good for him!
  4. When at Waffle House I always order the same thing. Two eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns and wheat toast. Eggs get mixed with hash browns. Grape jelly and bacon on the toast for a sweet and salty follow up Last time I was at a Waffle House was in Kentucky with my little brother and his wife. We played the weirdest stuff they had on the jukebox and watched the cute little gal behind the counter shake her butt to the music while she made our breakfast. Food was good too as I remember. Brother says the Waffle House locations closed in his area.
  5. Uh oh.... forgot about this ammo. CCI is in big trouble for using the "T word"! .
  6. No problem.... I was expecting some push back on this. Though I was actually expecting it to be gung-ho AR guys insulted that I neutered an AR lower with a .22 upper. And I do understand the problem with calling pea shooters "tactical". I suppose I could have asked for opinions on "military style" .22 rifles, but then somebody else would be pissed at that.
  7. >>There's nothing wrong with a .22 being used for hunting small game...the point was, that doesn't make them tactical. It's not a descriptive term, because it does not describe what they are. Yes, I know. I get it. "Tactical AR .22 is not tactical". None the less, go to http://www.google.com and search the term "tactical .22". Then email Google tech support and tell them to remove all references to "tactical .22" because the term does not exist. Thank goodness you came around to straighten out my usage of gun terms. Hey, forgot to tell you..... the clips fit great in m
  8. >>I do hope you enjoy your rifle, but leave the "tactical .22s" to the operators. You mean I shouldn't wear face paint and a ghillie suit and stalk ground hogs with my tactical .22? >>I feel like the most tactical thing a rimfire rifle is going to do is take small game in some kind of survival scenario. And what's wrong with that? >>All that being said, sometimes guns are just for fun, and there's nothing wrong with that! Zactly. "Tactical .22" has become a casual descriptive term for the type of rifle. If you Google "tactical .22" you get res
  9. I bought a couple of guns from Dick's and they didn't charge any transfer fees. I'd be surprised if Gander did. Still have tax though.
  10. Be careful on the Mossbergs.... I did look into this a bit lately and I considered that one too. It did not receive much good feedback from what I could find. You have to take the whole plastic shell apart to clean it. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/01/daniel-zimmerman/gun-review-mossberg-715t/ From what I found, the best cheap tactical .22 is the S&W M&P 15-22 (around $400). The Sig 522 is about the same price, maybe $20-$30 more. The Colt M4 .22 (made by Walther) is a good looking gun (they have a bull barrel, no handle version) for around $340 or so. It's a
  11. >>The tacticool is strong in this thread... you know you were thinking it. Yep, I know what you're saying..... and will not take offense. I was waiting for the "tacticool" comments. As I said in my first post.... "how tactical can you get with .22?". I have a Marlin 795 like you do (though I only paid $109 on sale at Dick's) but as I said I want a more beefy .22 rifle. Have you had to replace the plastic buffer in your 795 yet? Probably haven't shot mine enough, I've heard they don't like HV ammo and will wear out that buffer over time even with standard ammo. HV amm
  12. I happened to be in Milwaukee on business and was in the hotel watching this story on TV when it broke. Was talking to my wife on the phone as we both watched the cops raiding his apartment not far from my hotel. Rotting bodies in his bed and closet. I read where he drugged young men and drilled into their heads to try to turn them into sex slave zombies. The twisted fuck had severed heads, hearts, and dicks in stew pots in his fridge. Just a darn shame about him being murdered in prison. I shutter to think about what his existence is now in the after life. Milwaukee was having
  13. That's the first thing I thought too.... your cheek will tend to drag that one forward. I like the first (expensive) one in the review. What's with the creepy ginger dude blowing kisses at his cat during the review?!
  14. I got it, and I like it! Not a great pic, but the best I could do with a cheap cell phone. You get the idea. Picked up the Anderson complete lower from my FFL yesterday and put it together in the afternoon. While I have plenty of experience on AKs and the S-12, I'm an admitted AR noobie. You AR guys will get some laughs on my assembly experience. As I was putting it together, the first problem was getting the stock on the buffer tube. That latch lever is polymer and I didn't want to snap it trying to get the stock on. Turns out you really have to pull hard on the latch lever to
  15. Sounds like most of us have them organized in some way for the way we use them. It always amazes me to visit somebody and see that they have their firearms, mags, ammo, etc. spread all over the place with little to no organization. The guys that say they lose and find firearms in their house on a regular basis.
  16. Lots of AK mags in a box in the safe along with a few S-12 mags and drums. Most of the pistol mags I keep in the original box with the pistol (in the safe). Other pistol mags in pockets on the safe door to go with pistols in the door. I keep the safe heated year round so no rust on mags or anything else.
  17. Chile, your post had me doing searches on "sky diving" and I ended up clicking on this video somehow.... http://iloveskydiving.org/view/videos/the-naked-news-goes-skydiving/
  18. Man those WC GP100s look good. I always thought the 3" barrel was perfect for that gun, and I like the wood insert grips instead of the Hogue grips. I was looking to find one like the pic below, but then found the awesome deal on my 4" GP100 and had to buy it. .
  19. Here's the video I was thinking of.... . https://youtu.be/y-FkhTS2SNg ETA: Not sure why my Youtube link posts are not showing up embedded.... was working ok until lately.
  20. Was watching a video a couple weeks ago of some guys taking lots of ground hogs with Rem 700s. Some very impressive long range shots on very small targets. Will see if I can find it.
  21. Another $125 will get you an XD Mod2. It's essentially a double stack XDS. Very compact for a .45, 9rnds in the small mag, 13rnds in the longer mag. It's supposed to have a good feel to it. Well worth it over the Taurus IMO.
  22. The AR is a great platform and I enjoy shooting and tinkering with the set up on all mine. It can become a cash cow, but they are a lot of fun to play with. So different from the AK's ruggedness and cold war feel. Congrats on your purchase, and I hope you post some pics once you get it built. Thank you sir. Yep, I think it will be a fun rifle, and it's a good starting point in ARs for me. I almost bought an AK pistol (Century C39) with my cookie jar money, but this will be much more practical. I kind of have AKs covered for now anyway (though always want more!). Will post
  23. Just ordered parts for the .22 AR. Will be my first AR, I always wanted one. I figure now that I will have the lower, I can always drop a piston 5.56 on it later if I want to. Will post pics and parts list soon.
  24. What does that say when a .gov doesn't trust their own military? They are confiscating as many as they can early, so they won't have as many to collect later.
