I'm in the same boat, I respect MD for what he has done for the industry (and this forum), his drum's appear to be the bar at which others are held to. It boils down to what you are going to use it for. I trust MD arms with mine and my family's life. I currently do not have the same confidence in the PM drum. I will get one for the range, but it will take some time to have it as my primary go to magazine. My 2 cents.

I believe some Saiga's will not properly cycle without a stock shouldered. That may alter your plan as a home defense weapon, or maybe not. I've got an FAL side folder on mine, works out great.

I will take some pictures this week, a local gunsmith did the work, I believe he made a new (back plate?) but I will check on it. My friends ace stock doesn't lock into place like mine does. He has the kind with a buffer tube and has a Magpull stock. It's thickness stops it from locking up I believe. The FAL stock is incredible, solid and very robust on the firearm.

I have a converted S-12 with an FAL stock, I can't recommend it enough. My friend got the folding Ace stock, his is easier to fold than the FAL stock, but mine gets more looks at the range! Good luck!
