  1. Buttstock is still available. I thought $20 shipped was about the going rate around here for one? Is no one interested?
  2. Mags are SPF. Will take $20 shipped for the buttstock. Mount is SPF. I take money order, personal check, or PayPal (+3% for fees)
  3. Wanted to sell or trade a few AK items: First is the Saiga stock from my 7.62 conversion. In good shape, sling swivel is intact, no stock screw. $25 shipped. Second is 4 Hungarian 20-round steel mags. SPF! Last is a BP-02c Weaver scope mount for AK rail. SPF! Or I'll trade the whole lot off for an Ultimak mount. Also looking for Bulgarian Waffle mags in 7.62. Let me know what you got. Please email me at stephen.croft@gmail.com or PM me or reply here. I'll try and get back ASAP. Thanks!
  4. So are we pretty sure now that's the real twist rate? Cause I never could find a definite answer anywhere.
  5. Lookin' good! Maybe lengthen the far left one a bit to match the other 2. I'm looking to do the same with my Saiga eventually. Test it out on the range and let us know if it helps cool the barrel!
  6. Got these from Sportsman's Guide a week ago, just cleaned the cosmo off. What I have for trade: 1 Croatian? double-rib 1 Chinese stamped sideplate 1 Euro ribbed, spine (angled rib under sideplate) 2 Chinese flatbacks 1 Chinese? 3-rib with spine (triangle witness hole) No pics yet, I'll try but it might take a few days. Gotta borrow my g/f's camera. What I'd like in trade: 2 Bulgarian Waffle 30-rnd 7.62x39 mags Or I'll sell the whole lot for $45 shipped. Anyone interested please email me at stephen.croft@gmail.com or PM me. Thanks!
  7. I just bought a brand-new 7.62x39 from www.saigacentral.com (who also happen to have the cheapest ones I could find anywhere) and it has the dimples and a bevel on the chamber as well. I'm gonna try her out at the range tonight and if all goes well she's gonna get converted post haste. The guy at Saiga Central told me that all of the new 7.62x39's that he's getting in have dimples. Lucky for me I live in the same state and didn't even have to pay shipping or transfer fees!
  8. Using the Remington Shoot free ballistics program I downloaded, I figured that a 190yd zero range with the 7.62x39 will shoot 3 inches high at 100yds and won't drop to 3 inches below zero until about 225yds, so that gives you a "point-blank range" of 225yds with a 190yd zero. If you draw a 6 inch diameter circle on your chest you will see that if you within 3 inches high or low of where you're aiming if you are aiming for the center of mass of a badguy, you'll be fine out to 225yds. Hope that was helpful!
  9. Howdy y'all. I've got an older model Leupold M8 fixed 4x magnification rifle scope. It's not quite what I want to have mounted on a Saiga so I would like to trade it for a different type of optic. I'm partial to the Russian stuff, maybe a red-dot, like a Kobra, or maybe a low-power shotgun or pistol extended-eye-relief type scope that could go on an Ultimak mount. If you've got something you'd like to trade, let me know! I would consider selling it too for $130 shipped. You can email me at stephen.croft@gmail.com, reply here or PM me. Thanks!
  10. Honestly, I think it looks pretty darn cool! However, I would like it better if you replaced the foregrip with a bipod, then it would look a lot like a BAR, to me!
  11. Very nice! Makes me thankful we've got good enough tech these days for our boys to wear ceramic plates that can stop those 7.62 rounds at point blank range! You're lucky your range lets you shoot at metal targets. The only rifle range I can find near me won't let us shoot at anything but paper.
  12. rangerruck, It's in Northeast GA, the place is called Forsyth County Pawn. I bought my first Saiga from them about a year or so ago, a new .308, for $300 out the door after taxes and with a box of ammo. I'm hitting myself now for selling it. I'm going to wait to get my tax return and try and buy a new Saiga once they're back in stock so go ahead if you want to pick one up now for a good deal!
  13. A pawn shop near me has a couple of used Saigas for sale. Both caught my attention as I was browsing for a revolver this weekend. Now I want one but I can't decide which. There's a 20" barrel 7.62 with 2 mags for $249. I am thinking that I could make a sweet RPK clone with a bipod and wood stocks for that bad boy. There's also a 16" .223 with 1 mag for $249. I'm not sure if this one seems as good of a deal. So, do you think I should go for either one as priced or try to talk them down? And what would be a good way of checking on the condition of the gun? Other than checking o
  14. Well, considering you could have sold those mags at $50 apiece probably, you'd be looking at $250 worth of extra mags so the rifle would be around $335 which seems to be a decent price for a NIB Saiga.
  15. Rifle is still available. Price reduced to $350 + shipping OBO. Thanks!
