  1. BVamp-- I'm not sure what you're saying. The guy who said the sonics suck of course has a right to his opinion... as far as my neighbors, we talk pretty often, share some common interests, in fact. Cobra- stop whining.
  2. Yeah, its sometimes hard to tell, and I goof up occasionally. I know someone who I thought was chinese, and they turned out to be malay. I haven't heard the term "yellow label job" before. I'm sure companies do send reps over here to buy american products and reverse engineer them. Lord knows we do it for asian stuff as well. If anyone wants, I can pull up reports from that company I referenced that does teardown analysis of asian made electronic goods (and US made as well.) Basically, that's the way it is-- you sell something to someone and they may copy it. AS to
  3. And you call them spies? Not tourists? (I'm assuming you can tell chinese from japanese... japanese tourists film everything, they're not spying, they're just fond of cameras.) I mean ,what could china possibly learn from a photo of a plane? OR a particle accelerator? There's much more about these things in public domain knowledge. Sure, yes, I've been to trade shows and seen lots of chinese taking pictures of things. (Japanese as well)... high tech things. Like computers, videogames, other consumer electronics. I talked to one of them once, and he said he was working for a c
  4. Maybe, from the pictures they look like they might be innovative. Haven't seen one in person. By the way, when you treat me with respect, I will always return it.
  5. Its the standard VEPR stock-- Not the best angle, but the furniture on this one is just like mine: http://www.ak47.com/images/Vepr-K---Tri-Rail-006.gif
  6. Bvamp-- I think I get what you're saying... but presidents do have the power, Reagan who vetoed many bills could have insisted that the machine gun manufacturing ban not be in there, and Bush 1 banned the chinese things by executive order, so they clearly had to make that choice. And Clinton, of course, signed the AWB. I'm not sure what you mean about the boon from Reagan... I think its more complicated than that, and I do believe that when it comes to economic factors, its difficult to give any president direct credit... For instance, reagan is responsible for the boom in the 90s, but a
  7. Well, it just goes to show! You never know who you'll run into on the internet. Good thing I didn't say it was over priced, just said it was out of my price range. If he traded it straight for a FAL, I can see why he'd want that much for it. And I agree, $35 markup is not really that bad at all. (And $550 for a FAL isn't that bad either.) I remember the first time I went to a WAC show. There was a guy there walking around with a Saiga in 308. I wanted a Saiga in 7.62 at that time (before I bought my others) and passed, but I did talk to him about it. It seemed his price was "a
  8. The Glock is good, but remember that Glock is engaging in "Ballistic fingerprinting"... before laws are passed requiring this, glock decided to just go ahead and do it. so they take the "fingerprint" of each gun and store it, so that if anyone ever wants to look it up, they can. This is very bad, since not even real fingerprints are unique (Its true!), the ballistic "fingerprint" is very un-unique. Might tell you the model of gun, but not the actual gun... So, I consider this cowtowing to gun control, and won't buy Glock products. The XD is a good thing to check out, I don't thi
  9. I think gun rights are anti-thema to government power. Which is why they were in the constitution. I think politicians are not principled people. They are people who want power, and government gives them a way to get power "legally". Thus, almost no politician trusts their constituants with guns, because guns represent the people's ultimate ability to defend themselves. There's three boxes in americna politics-- the soap box, the ballot box and the bullet box. The FCC has regulated all communication ot the point that the soap box is effectively controlled. The elections are rig
  10. Well ,if it would ease your conscience to do it, you can sell me the wood stock and I'll put it on my VEPR and you can make yours synthetic like you like! Or, we could just trade (I have synthetic.)
  11. I'm pretty sure I've seen that knife for less than $219. Here it is for $129 http://www.redsoldier.com/index.asp?PageAc...ProdID=393&HS=1 And here it is for $86: http://store.tradingpostsupply.com/yhst-12...3/ea170315.html And here's one for $90:http://www.dallastacticalsupply.com/itemdetails.asp?itemid=EA170315 I would have sworn I saw it on Cheaper than dirt or sportsman's guide, but I can't seem to find it there now.
  12. Becomming "Mechanically inclined" just means doing it. Spill some blood, learn to use the dremmel better, pretty soon you'll be good enough to start doing mods for money! (Or at least, thats what it seems with some of the shady tree gunsmiths out there...) Seriously, though, don't be afraid... just go slow and ask lots of questions and you'll be fine. Welcome aboard....
  13. You guys are following me around the board, spreading this same old bullshit? I love how you keep making new things up that I've supposedly said, wolverine. Its notable that you never quote me, you just make shit up as you go. Seems you guys are obsessed with me! BACK ON TOPIC: Gaddis-- you made a couple mistakes. It was George HW Bush who banned the Chinese imports. He did it by executive order. George W Bush banned the importation of AK parts, first for assembly into new rifles, and then outright, in totality. That means that there can be no more barrels imported
  14. 2600 Saigas? That doesn't sound like a lot. Sounds like a couple months supply.
  15. I know what your mean about the 100, you can tell there is Kalashnikov in there somewhere, but yet its sleek looking. I really like the looks of the front sight as well. You crazy people, the S100 doesn't look like an AK, therefor it sucks! (Yeah, someone on some forum actually said that.) Course this is why I want one. Just love that look, with the AK internals, very nice. "Its a hunting rifle!" LOL. Course, I gues that means I have enough EBRs, that I want some that look like hunting rifles. I do hope they import them, I hope its not just a tease.
