  1. Does anyone have a barrel threading kit they would let me borrow? I have a 7.62x39 Saiga that I would like to put a muzzle brake on.
  2. Do the full conversion. You'll be happy you did.
  3. What's wrong with the Tapco mags? I've never had a problem out of them.
  4. I made an A-frame for the plate to hang from. When you shoot it the fragments from the round get deflected towards the ground. I've yet to shoot it with my AK, I just might have to do that this weekend.
  5. I have 5 tapco 30rd mags and they all work fine. I've got a couple surplus mags on the way.
  6. Go for a walk down some train tacks and pick up the discarded tie plates. I've shot countless rounds of 30-06 at one and it has never punched through it.
  7. I'm thinking of buying a .223 to go along with my 7.62x39. Good to know that there are mags readily available for them.
  8. Just file down the mag catch on the gun with a metal file. Be sure to go slow, you don't want to remove too much metal. That would be bad.
  9. Installing the spring for the BHO is a pain. Maybe I did mine in the wrong order or something, but I got it in. I didn't modify mine at all. I went out and shot yesterday and it didn't get in my way.
  10. I normally just grab the mag when firing. The original handguard worked fine. I just wanted more of an AK look so I change to the Tapco Galil handguard. I'm going to try to put a video on youtube in a day or two shooting my saiga with the Galil handguard on it.
  11. By after market mags if you mean ak steel mags you arent using the right one man. I would take steel ak mags over any mag any day. Im not dissing the tapcos I have a few, the surefires are good too, have a few of those. But you get some good quality steel mags and you just can not beat them hands down. Yeah, I need to get some steel mags. I'd like to buy them in person so I can inspect them when I buy them. I don't want to buy a bunch of mags online and have them show up to my house with a bunch of dents in them. Kinda why I've been using Tapco mags.
  12. I filed my mag catch down and installed the bullet guide. I wasn't happy with the quality or price of the aftermarket Saiga mags. I've been running Tapco AK mags ever since.
  13. If all works out I will drill a couple holes in my gas tube later today.
  14. I think it's just cosmetic. The Saiga has no upper handguard so to make things look pretty they put a plate on it.
  15. I think I might drill a couple holes in my gas tube to help it vent. I don't really care for all the crud going into my receiver. Do you guys think a couple 1/8" holes on the side would work fine?
