Granted barrel dia. would not allow "standard" AK style lever butt this should not have given them a reason for no locking mechanism at all? Yes I hope light loads work for I am not a fan of polishing anything on an AK. Obviously proper breakin and some tuning works but I don't want a bling military weapon. I doubt the russian millitary are sending their weapons off to have them honed and polished. I should have video testing soon.

It's a 030. I guess not many of us have. 5 ports .070" ( #50 ) drill in a large pattern. More holes with smaller dia. help with fouling, better than fewer larger holes.

Acually not like a krink at all. Krink has a locking cam and lever on lower retainer just like any other AK. This does not. that's my concern.

Dissapointing findings about these models in 030 gas system thread

My first dissapointing impresions after disassembling the legion IZ-433 I have found: 1) The front handgaurd retainer is only a slip fit on the barrel, no locking lever. It can slip forward during firing. 2) The gas system is non self adjusting as I first thought. It is fixed, and probably tuned for a limited range of ammo. probably military / law enforcement/ buckshot loads. There is no compensating device present. An even harder asspect is the factory LBHO release button thru the center truniun block. Gas block has been available, Op rod no problem, tappet no problem, rear sight block with real removable AK furniture, very few I've seen do it. Hinged 030 style top cover with rail even fewer I've seen. I have done a lot of research and have found very few gunsmiths / machinist that have even attemped to custom fabricate some of these parts. I do agree the parts can be reverse enginnered but at what cost?

I ordered the AK gas tube kit from Brian at Dinzag Arms. If you remove your gas tube assembly and send it to him he will knock $50 off of his price. He has several pricing options that can include the front sight, muzzle brake, upper and lower handguards and their respective retainers. Look it up online and check it out. I removed my tube and sent it to him last week. I ordered the complete kit except for the muzzle brake, which I already have. He substituted a handguard for it. He is pretty cool to deal with. I agree also you don't see many well done conversions even from well known builders? I found this on GB http://www.gunbroker...?Item=267541233and is almost 3 times higher and still has left over holes, manly bolt on parts including the reciever block. Don't most highend builders weld on a reciever plate?.... but it's got plenty of polishing and (honing)? Just not a thousand dollars worth.

By seeing the price of the shotgun I don't see mags being any cheaper I also can't see many companies tooling up for a russian magwell specific, fairly low volume mag?

8 rd russian magwell mags which are well over 100.00 when you can find them 5 rd russian LRBHO mags that came with legion LBHO saiga 12's can maybe modified?
