  1. Ive been told to get an SGL but for 780, thats alil too expensive for me. I just got a sporter that was converted and worked on by CGW. They welded and refinished the holes and installed the bullet guide which i was kindof unsure about doing myself. Herd of people braking taps off in the receiver which is more trouble than im willing to deal with for the time being. I spent 680 for my converted x39 shipped and transferred, but I figure with all the work and accessories on it I find it to be quite a fair deal. especially since im one of those suckers who fell for the $1450 AR price from a local
  2. Here is mine, Im sorry to say that I didnt convert it myself. It has been professionally converted and refinished by Mr Tom Cole of Cadiz Gun Works. It includes: the US magazine shown Professionally welded, blended and refinished, as well as test fired. Bullet guide is installed to allow use of AK47 Magazines. AK buttstock Saw grip Galil Handguard with aftermarket handguard retainer Im not sure whats inside as far as FCG goes or anything else for that matter. Hopefully by the end of the week it'll be in my hands.
  3. whats up. was just wondering if you have a 5.56 or 7.62, Ive heard of other members on here finding threads on their 7.62's after cutting off the sight sleeve. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=48234 Im assuming yours had no threads?? Have you had any experience threading any barrels before? How hard/easy is it? I might have to do the same to mine if I dont have any factory threads. What thread is the tapco flash hider for, 5.56 or 7.62?
  4. is excited. My 7.62 should be shipped today from CGW.

  5. Goooooooood moooooooorning Saiga12.cooooooooooooom!!!

  6. I agree with WaffenSchmied, I was having gas FTE issues with my 12 and I gave Vicki-Jo a call at Cadiz and sent my gun in for warranty work and it works really well now. Couldnt be happier. It was all free too. Shipping, work, and return shipping, free. I was leaving the country and they put the hustle on it for me so it got back before I left. Bad thing was was I couldnt go shooting until I got back.
  7. is going clay shooting today after work, spendifferous!

  8. Nothing special. I live in AZ and my name starts with G. Although I have thought about Shikaka being I like Batman and Ace Ventura When Nature Calls, but AZG if fine.
  9. Thank you Shandlanos and Jim. I appreciate it. Just one more question, What is a SGL?
  10. Hello everybody. Thank you for your time and input. Ive been wanting to purchase a saiga 7.62x39/AK-47 and I have a few questions. 1. How hard is the bullet guite/Trunnion to install? 2. Do you have to use the tap and drill set to install it or do 7.62s come with a predrilled hole? 3. Do you have to modify every magazine? or just non-US made mags? 4. Is this( http://www.centerfiresystems.com/sai-762.aspx ) the correct type of 7.62 to convert to an ak? 5. Are the muzzle brakes detachable? and how hard is it? Screw on and off or retaining pins??? 6. Are all Saiga 7.6
  11. Is it the weekend yet. I want to go shoot some more clays. I think im addicted.

  12. So Im confused. Is there a Trojan on this forum I should be worried about? Or is this a false positive? it was just on the kvar page for the 4th of july sale on friday I think. I posted a warning to others on it and kvar replied that it was taken care of so im sure its no longer there. It didnt affect my computer. just when I went to the site the first time, it said one had been blocked. So to answer your question, no. According to kvar it has been taken care of.

  19. Does anyone recommend aginst usiing the origional hammer with the Tromix FCG? and why? please PM me if you have input

      Lone Star Arms

Not sure using the Russian hammer makes a great deal of difference in terms of better function.

Due to the Tapco G2 FCG used by Tromix, the Russian hammer will sit higher in the receiver and at a different angle than with the factory hook.

The Russian hammer is also not made to work with the Tapco disconnector, and may hang on the disconnector as a result.

I am not advising you to use or not to use the Russian hammer, but if you do I recommend that you make...

.... make sure you have enough other US parts on your build to be 922® compliant.
