Hey, Al I live fairly close, about 1.5 hours from el paso, southern NM. Lots of open country out this way, very quiet, you'll like it, alittle hot and windy sometimes- today [and for the last couple of weeks] 100-110 at my house. Im on a 2.5 acre lot so cant really shoot out my front door but only have to go about 2-5 miles lots of blm land! I did the very same thing put a 18 x 80 manufactured, very reasonable price.

I have to agree, I can remember living in a not so great part of town in stockton ca, was worried constantly about being broke into or worse, had alot of fence jumpers and robbery in the area. One night was just to bed not asleep yet, knew I locked the doors, knew the two small sons were in bed, wife was next to me, wasnt sure what I heard but knew it wasnt right, At this point I didnt think it was a break in but thought what the hell, so I grabbed my mossberg not loaded, like I said didnt feel like a break in [no loud noise or breaking glass etc], shotgun in one hand shells in the other hand,

My next gun is going to be a saiga 308, made the mistake of talking myself into a psl, not a bad gun fairly accurate, but furn not to pretty and had problems with the bolt hanging up on the back stroke [sometimes] it was a Tenn kit and for sure not worth what I paid for it, esp when I could have gotten a saiga 308 with all the bells and whistles for the same money, I already have two saigas 7.62x39 and love them. The local gun store here has 308 for $450

from stock to not, cant decide which one I like better!
