  1. ok i feel better now. I love how the scope feels, adjust, illuminates, and focuses. I just hope is doesnt prove to be a POS. I have it on a kalinka mount so if I have any problems then I will know its the scope. Thanks guys.
  2. I just picked up a Centerpoint 4-16x40mm scope for my PSL. I saw it and for $70 I thought id give it a chance. Ive read mixed reviews and was wondering if you guys have had any trigger time with one?
  3. I had an old rossi 38 special that I picked up at a pawn shop in LNIB condition for $160. It was never fired and appeared to be of great quality. Boy was I wrong! The pistol shot great for about 200 rounds of standard pressure 38's. Then the cylinder began to loosen up and got to the point that I didnt feel confortable shooting it. This was an older "s&w police chief" replica with the thin wooden grip and 2" bbl. Maybe the quality is better now but Id be hesitant about buying another. Just my 2 cents.
  4. The crook isnt too thick. Its just a pain in the ass. I regret not buying the retaining plate for my S12. I have one on my S-223 and it is a piece of cake to install. Plus you basically have to cut the crook off to remove the FCG. Do yourself a favor and buy the retaining plate. You will be much happier
  5. Heres a little write up I did on another thread on the install. "As far as width goes I just started cutting that little stepped ledge thats on there untill its flush with the rivet. I think it was .96" I think. Then I just measured doen with a depth gauge to .89" and used blue masking tape to mask off a line (point of no return!) to the said depth and slowely started making a ledge just above the taped line. Once that is done and is flush with the rivet I wrapped the blue tape around the trunnion and did a test fit. If it doesnt go in right away put a little pressure on the adapter so
  6. it was a very cheap one. cost me $20 and I picked it up at harbor freight. Its just a little 4 incher but it has a depth thingy that comes out the end of the micrometer. Thats what I used for depth. Ill try and post exactly which model I have tomorrow. Just make sure you square the trunnion as best as you can because that will keep the adapter from fully seating. I couldnt understand why it wouldnt drop in and then i played with the the corners a bit and it popped in no problems. Also make sure you use oil periodically and check for heat. If its warm to the touch I just let it cool down to avo
  7. I dont know too much about fitting the adapter to the wasr3 but I did it to my Saiga 223 with a dremel. Its not to difficult as long as you go slow. The carbide cutters make quik work of the trunnion(relatively speaking) and are very controllable. Just look at the other threads about the measurements and if yours can be made to those said measurements you should be fine. I picked up a digital micrometer and it was very helpfull.
  8. Are the crimson trace grips worth it? They run about $170 dont they?
  9. I recently traded my ISSC m22 to my brother inlaw for a barely shot ruger lcp. I have to say that I love this little basterd. It super compact and feels really well in the hand for a pocket gun. I believe I came out ahead in the trade because it had about 100 rounds through it (40 were mine when my bro inlaw bought it last year) and multiple holsters and mags. I guess he didnt enjoy shooting it (he said it hurt his hand...poon) so thats why he wanted my 22lr. It came with an IWB holster, paddle holster, and a pocket holster. It also came with the ruger pistol rug and 2 mags w/ finger extension
  10. What section should this belong in?
  11. I would just like to share my little collection of AK's. Now I just need a mini draco (possibly SBR??) and a nice Saiga 5.45. From top to bottom: Saiga 12- Crapco t6, md molot PG, CSS AR handgaurd and trigger gaurd, Tromix bolt on charging handle, Tapco G2, Full bolt and carrier polish, Md arms v plug & booster puck, and magpul AFG TGI FPK (just bought): completly stock except for the kalinka mount and my spare leapers 6 power scope. Norinco MAK-90: I absolutly love the gun but HATE the tapco kit. I want t
  12. I just tried my md arms break and thread protector and they screw on fine. I think the break is defective. CSS, am I able to return this?
  13. I used the wrench and tightned the choke as far as it could go and it stops about 4 threads from bottoming out. I checked inside the choke to see if the barrel is is flush and it still has that small 4 thread gap. Can I shoot it like this? Im concerned because dove season starts in a week and I need a choke and dont really have time to ship it back and wait for it to return. I checked my S12 threads and they all are perfect and clean and the poly chokes threads look perfect as well. I installed my thread protecter and it screwed on with no problems at all.
  14. Hey I just bought a poly choke for my saiga 12 and it will not fully seat. I cleaned the threads really well and checked for anything that would gum them up and its super clean. The choke screws down about half way and then there is a lot of resistance. I can only tighten it down to about 1/8" from bottoming out. Im kinda pissed that I just bought a $100 choke just to probably have it be defective. Have you guys had any problems installing yous? Is this normal?
  15. I am actually leaning toward this setup.. But I cant find one for the straight cut receiver. Do they make one of these for a regular AK? And if they did, would it fit on my FPK? O and for shits and gigs I threw my little 6 power scope I normally use on my S-223 on it just to see how it looks. The kalinka mount surprised me to how solid it mounts up. The thing has absolutly no side to side wobble. Sorry for the poor picture quality.
  16. The guy claimed he had a few PSLs and didnt need this one. I knew he was full of shit the moment I met him. He was freaked out because he had this rifle that didnt run well and wanted to get out from under it ASAP because he thought he had a dud. I knew it was just a matter of tweaking to perfect this beast, same with the Saiga 12. I think my hammer face is profiled wrong. Its not smooth at all and seems to ride to high when the bolt travels rearward causing too much friction. I dont know . Ill try polishing the bolt as I did with my S12. Im glad to here I scored haha. I knew they ran a
  17. Another question is what thread patter do they have, same as 7.62x39 AKs? And do they have the same optic mounts as the PSLs?
  18. Hey guys I just picked up this TGI FPK in 7.62x54r. The gun appears to have been fired maybe 50 times and is in perfect condition. The owner said he couldnt get it to fire more than 8 or so rounds without it jamming. I racked the bolt back and as the bolt rides over the hammer there is a lot of resistance, I mean almost completely hanging the bolt up. It has the g2 trigger group and I remember reading something similar with this happening in the S-308. Can anybody shed some light on my situation?? I dont know too much about the psl type rifles so any info would be put to good use. BTW, I p
  19. Good to know, thank you. Im going to look so out of place with this setup haha but its all good. Thanks for everybodys imput. Gonna be good eatin this year. Speaking of that, any dove recepies to offer?
  20. I took a chance and bought the polychoke2 with the flash hider. I like how convenient it is to change choke settings. Plus it looks kind of cool IMO. One question though....How heavy are they? Does it add a lot of weight on the end of the barrel?
