  1. I like the look of the ALU shrouds quite a bit. Do they do a good job of staying cool to the touch after extensive firing?
  2. I havnt tried a vertical grip but I do use a afg for the purpose of indexing my hand but my gorilla arm's get my hands way out front on the forend letting me touch the barrel. I'm not referring to the gas tube cover, the quad rail does a great job of keeping my hands off that. I'm looking at the tubular shrouds that slip over the barrel and screw on the the choke threads. And perhaps a shoulder thing that goes up too......
  3. The problem I'm having is that even with a full quad rail and afg that my index finger and thumb still have frequent contact with the barrel and yes I really am a ham fisted freak
  4. Thanks for the reply, but my hands are big enough to engulf the afg on my chaos forend and still contact the barrel.
  5. I've had my S12 for about six years now and have finally gotten tired of it burning my size XXL paws during rapid fire practice so I'm in the market for a shroud. I'd love some information about the various makes and models available and pictures of them installed would be great. Thanks for any help you all can offer!
  6. I love mine on my S12. I find that it really helps with rapid shot to shot target acquisition.
  7. Outstanding! I can't wait to hear the results of the testing!
  8. I'd be interested in some fire control groups to make art with or whatnot.
  9. I would be very intrested in a preorder on this product.
  10. I also use the Hogue on everything I can. It fits my meat hooks perfect.
  11. I have this folding mechanism I'd sell. Lightly used. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-171/ACE-SAIGA-FOLDING-MECHANISM/Detail
  12. I did the Pauly cork fix on my two pro-mag mags and it worked like a charm. I wouldn't consider them for shtf duty but they work now and thats far better than two more paperweights in the gun room!
  13. No kidding a cork fix from Pauly. I have two of those that came used with the gun and do the same thing. Pauly, would you use a real cork or is the synthetic versions serviceable?
  14. Strike Hard Gear makes a Chest Rig that holds the AK 40 rounders perfectly. Thanks for posting the vid. What kind of holster is that on his chest? Anybody know? That's a Blackhawk Serpa holster. I have one on my vest in the same location and would hard pressed to find a better setup for what I'm doing.
  15. Sorry for balling that up and I can't edit on the phone but my part is the second to last paragraph from the bottom.

  17. I have used the AFG with a drum from a bench shooting slugs and had no problems resting on my elbows. I do have longer than average arms though. YMMV
  18. I just got home and opened the gun up. It took all of two seconds to verify that the right spring leg was indeed the culprit. It took another five minutes of tweaking with a leathman to get it bent so that it requires a dental pick to get it off the trigger bar now. I won't get to shoot today but I have no doubt its fixed. Thanks to everyone for the great help and is the reason this is the only firearms forum I'm on.
  19. I hadn't thought of that but I will look when I get out of work. The trigger feels smooth and free though and the fact that it only seem to do it on buckshot which shouldn't make a difference really has me confused.
  20. That was the first thing I looked at and the spring is were it should be. When I did the conversation I bent the spring leg to hold the BHO firmly against the side of the receiver and the legs are solidly hooked on the bar.
  21. During a recent trip to the range my once dead reliable S12 started giving me grief. I ran about fifty rounds of bird shot followed by thirty slugs with no problems at all. I switched to #4 Buck and every few rounds the trigger would not reset. The gun was ejecting and feeding fine but the trigger was getting hung internally but a light tap on the trigger would let it travel forward. I tried opening it up to spot the issue but even jiggling the dust cover was enough to free it up. I can't duplicate the problem manually and am at a total loss. The gun has been converted and has seen a thousan
  22. Damn, just when I thought my S-12 was done.......
  23. I don't have any slide glide, but I may give some never seize a shot, I just hate the idea of that goop in a firearm.
  24. This is a great place to start. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-STOCKS-dsh-SAIGA-CONVERSIONS/Categories
