  1. Just got a nice high ton press. Needs some work, should be able to form both side of a Saiga-12 mag at the same time.

      Industrial machine dealers throw off your perception of size. I asked for a small press and I end up in a row of 500+ ton machines. Maintaining them is not terrible provided the pump is well made. If its made with log spliter parts its going to break down all the time. Most of mine go two years between servicing.

      You gonna install a light curtain for that thing? We have a 75 ton Minister press for my school with light curtains installed as a safety feature. They're made by Link Systems. They're not cheap but a person is priceless. Presses are dangerous enough as it is.

      Not sure what will be used. Most presses have double palm buttons. I have a nagging fear of splitting a die, so I may go with a thick lexan door with a auto latch and sensor. It would probably be safer since it prevents anything from getting in there, rather then locking the press up every time a dust bunny floats by. Light curtains are not that bad if you already have a PLC for it to interact with. The stand alone setups are $3K+ with a PLC they are about $175 depending on size and...
