Honest Evaluation of the "SHTF" concept
CPF replied to Joseph's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Funny that we are 5 days away from the possibility of one of these scenarios. Anyone up for a countdown? -
WTT NIB S-12 IZ-109

Not really interested in trading. I have a March 09 7.62x39, converted with the hash marking. Based on other people that have the same manufactured year as me, I think the barrel may already be threaded. -
Get a 4x POSP and you should be good to go. I hear more praise for Eastwave than Kalinka, but in the end, either will do in terms of POSP's. Definitely pick one up, though. Probably one of the best types of scopes you can ever get for an AK.

Where is this extra Y? I have never seen what anyone was talking about when they talk about the Y. Can you circle it? I may have a 7.62 in your criteria. -
The one with the trigger back is not a good deal. Get the one with the trigger forward. That is the true converted rifle.

WTS: Excellent converted Saiga 12
CPF replied to ykk9's topic in Unsorted Ads prior to November 2012 (WTS / WTT)
Its so beautiful! Why don't I have money! -
Or we get some legislators in that will change the law. This form of gun control has gone on too long. How amazing would it be if the whole 922 law system didn't exist?
-
We'll discuss this further at the range haha Z +1. I am going to have to bookmark that picture. It's just too good to pass up

Can you make one for the Saiga
-
Pretty inefficient. All you need for the rear facing Saiga-12 is 1 round in the chamber
-
And the award for "Most Unrealistic Gun Sound" goes to... this video! Pretty nice video effects tho. To an idiot, it may seem real. Still pretty funny.
-
I guarantee that the price will not go down with the loss of the side rail. The price of the side railed models will simply skyrocket instead.
-
Get the CSS conversion kit. Easy and no modding of the G2 required. That will put you into a very good position for 922r compliance. Get the normal AK T-6 stock, Molot pistol grip, and the UTG quad rail. That should give you everything you wanted in your first post. Then pick your fore-grip and you're good to go

Why? It shows quality and gives you more options. Just take it off if you don't want it. Don't make the rest of us suffer for your opinion (Though in reality the BATFE really couldn't care less what we think). Its like saying you hate the bolt hold open button. Don't like it? Take it out. But it sure adds to the niceness of the Saiga platform.

How to Deal With Anticipated Recoil
CPF replied to CPF's topic in Saiga Weapons - General Discussion
I would be heeling (lefty is opposite of target I'm sure). So now I just need to observe my shooting next time. -
For all calibers, or just the 12 gauge?
-
You won't. These aren't sub-moa rifles, the biggest improvement in accuracy will likely come from practice with a paticular rifle. saiga's "more accurate" than 80% of other AK's? Where did you even get that figure from? made up statistic is made up. I never said it was a statistic. I said that Saigas are probably more accurate than 80% of ak's on the US market. Seeing as at least 50 percent of these on the US market are old WASR-10's, I think that my estimate for the Saiga is correct. I don't know why whenever someone gives an opinion they assume it is a statistic.
-
+1. MAK-90s are some of the better made AK's out there.
-
Saiga's have a Russian 100 series barrel built into the gun, which is newer and more precise than older barrels. There tend to be less issues with Saiga's too, as you don't have to worry about the reciever and barrel coming from different places. Milled recievers are literally milled from steel blocks to tighter tolerances, which gives a more precise shot. However, milled receivers are also heavier and tighter tolerances tend to mean less reliable.
-
Again, I say that for a general comparison. Personally, I have heard that milled AK's tend to have better accuracy, but they are quite rare finds. In reality, Saiga's are probably more accurate than 80% if not more of the AK's out there.
-
Get a VEPR if you are looking for more accuracy, though a Saiga will do you just fine. Not sure as to what the typical specific accuracy difference is between a Saiga and any other AK, but I do know that for the most part, Saiga's are more accurate. I'm sure there are a few forum members who can tell you the specifics.

Either I am having a really stupid moment or something is missing. Don't you have to have it shipped to an FFL dealer?
